More than 4 days while actively recalling my dreams to take note of the effects.

I am feeling a little ill ow unfortunately so that might effect my dreams as well, but I will start counting the days tomorrow because last night I had alot to study so I went to bed really late and therefore couldn't remember many dreams at all. In order to make the experiment useful I need to be consistent with my bedtimes as well.

But if you still want to know, the effects of not doing it for one day - no change in usual vividness or recall.

Ok I had a sort of sexual dream last night. I first had a dream where I jumped from a very high height down into a swimming pool by doing flips.
Then some guy got mad at me because I wasn't allowed to be in that pool and he kicked me out. I was then in another room with a big pool and I saw some woman instructing small children of how to swim, and I thought about asking her if I could do flips in that pool. But then I thought "What the F am I wasting my time on doing flips and sh*t... I just want to meet some hot girl and fool around." So I walked out of that room and was suddenly at a party environment, but then felt the urge to pee, I went into a bathroom looked myself in the mirror and it looked normal! I started to pee slightly afraid that it would happen in real life, but the question is, why did I go to the bathroom if I knew it was a dream? o. O Anyway this event showed some signs of me being more aware than usual.

I never met my dream girl, I woke up shortly after. But as you can see after one day I can already see signs of increased vividness and well unfortunately also sexual content. Or I was just acting on instinct anyhow we'll see what happens in the future.

Yeah I have the knack of realizing that I'm dreaming and not doing anything about it. i.e. a few days ago I was dreaming and I distinctively remember saying to myself, no there's no point because I'm dreaming or similar. I actually tell myself that I'm dreaming but then just act normal, It's like I don't even realise what I just said; really rather frustrating. It was somewhat much more memorable then normal, I met a few people I know and a Pokémon lol but that is just a random fluctuation it seems. From tomorrow? that's good because I 'slipped up' yesterday.

Hehe. I went to bed last night though, but had surprisingly vivid dreams for being that late, so I guess there are some effects already.
But I will see the real result tonight, because tonight I will go to bed at my regular bed time.

      Cya and good luck!

It seems curious that it would affect your dreams so much and so quickly, is that just you or is it a general thing? It never happens to me regardless.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I think that I get more fatigued if I do it, and when I stop I think there is a change in my hormones that in turn changes my serotonine, dopamine, norepinephrines and acetylcholine levels or conversion somewhat. I haven't meassured this of course, so it's just a theory that would explain the change in vividness and critical thinking that leads to more lucidity.

If you didn't understand any of that, check out this video explaining these systems correlation with the brain and dreams.

Lucid Dream Technique - Brain Chemistry - YouTube

Even if this theory is wrong, the result is the same for me: By not slapping the monkey, I get more vivid dreams that I am more aware of, and of course an increase of sexual content. If you want an example check out my Dream Journal, there are two examples of this happening.
      Enjoy!

I have started to keep a Day Journal as well after seeing the results from this thread: http://www.dreamviews.com/dream-sign...reams-try.html

And wow I got a huge recall boost, I remembered 4 really long and vivid dreams, from each I woke up with a "WTF was that a dream?!", and that usually just happens once each morning, but this time through out the entire night,a nd eventually this worked it's way to an even more vivid and aware dream: http://www.dreamviews.com/blogs/mast...eam-not-44394/

This is also Day 2 for me and I am really motivated to keep doing this, or more correctly to not do this , because this combined with the memory practise is really powerful and I wouldn't dare to stop using any of these approaches.

Superadam051 check that recall thread out, it have helped 59 people including me. And tell me how it goes.

Good luck to the rest of you!

Checking in on the first day of spring break. It certainly has been a crazy five weeks; a lot has been happening but I managed to just barely scrape by. Being able to fall asleep around midnight and then wake up before 11 (which is early for me) is a strange feeling. For the first time in months my sleep schedule is back on track, and this "self control challenge" is definitely helping in that regard.

Here's hoping for 3 more weeks, guys. Cheers.

I read that post not too long ago actually, never tried it then I was just reading about. It could well be worth a go as I don't like writing things down straight after waking up and in the afternoon it won't bother me anywhere near as much, who knows, it could even be nice. I was up at 4 a.m today, tried to WBTB (failed again) and got up; 45 minutes had passed. So I watched the latest The Walking Dead and have been up ever since. Wow, that's 15 hours now. I was really bored this morning and I couldn't resist (appalling excuse I know). So back to day 1 for me, I really want to succeed in this challenge at least for a month, I've done it before. Your talk of all your success motivates me, then I get demotivated again when I fail miserably at attempting; a chain of endless disappointment :'(

You got to dare to fail to learn to succeed. My motto for pretty much everything in my life right now.

I have failed terribly for 1 and a half year straight and then I learned what works and what's not, so I now on my fifth year can just know what I need to do.

Here is a quote even though I don't regard myself a champion: "Every champion was once a contender that refused to give up" and "You have to do what others don't to achieve what others won't."

It doesn't matter if that is not beating the bat for a few days or just never giving up your lucid dreaming practise or anything else in life, the principle is the same.

It's supposed to be a little hard, if it wasn't hard everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it great. Although now you know that the hard part is not finding the right method, or even learning to use a technique. The hard part is consistency and to never give up.

Life is like a boxing match defeat is declared not when you fail, but when you refuse to stand again.

Turn those words into action. Action turns into results. Sooner or later you will be living the dream (literally).

So bottom line when something bad happens, you can either let it define you, destroy you or strenghten you!

(This is bassically all of my motivational quotes and images in one text, I hope you liked it.)

Although I got more if you want. ^-^

lol You could give inspirational speeches with writing like that, but any who I agree consistency plays a big role and your words do make perfect sense it's just sometimes I guess I get annoyed at myself for not being able to properly try. Earlier I laid for 45 minutes around that to try and WBTB, the timing was early-ish but not too early. I couldn't do it, I just fail at WILD'ing and really need to boost my dream recall. Enough of me in this thread as it is not what this is about. My posts will be related to this now to save people effort if they keep up to date with this forum.

UPDATE: Lasted all day with no effort lol starting to learn Java as a hobby (I guess)

This night I ended up playing Candy Crush on my Iphone in bed, so it ended with me falling asleep very late, but I had regular recall this night, nothing spectacular.

Tomorrow I will see what the result of 3 days will bring.

And by the way Superadam051 I have learned that boredom is pretty much the biggest reason to why I give in, so get active do useful stuff!

I need to study today anyway, unfortunately that is really boring but I will do my best to resist the urge.

I will prove that I am the MasterMind with the Masterballs lol

Yes I agree, you wouldn't think it but boredom really does play a part. 3 or so dreams I remembered today and it is day 2 (without "smacking the monkey" xD), can't consider them results from the challenge as I hadn't slept in nearly 20 hours lol

      Third night:

I was very aware of my dreams and at some point I even said "Hmm this must be a dream", I then decided to reality check (by looking at my hands), I got super surprised when I saw that they looked perfectly normal, even my nails looked like usual.. I thought "No this can't be" and I looked at them again, but still no change.
Then some girl said "Hey Chris we need to go now!" - for the whole story read my DJ.

The weird thing though was that I woke up, wanted to return to the dream, not by WILDing but by DILDing o. O and I did that effortlessely just by thinking about it.
I didn't go lucid though, but I mean I returned to the dream in matter of seconds, I remember it! Awareness is strange...

Ok the (literally) hardest day awaits me now, Day 4 the day I usually fail!

And here is a meme for all the Game of Throne fans out there.

Day 3. Been keeping myself busy with the Assassins Creed III campaign on the 360 which is much better than I originally thought. I'm trying to do so much but don't have enough time. No slip-ups yet and I intend to keep it that way.

Damn... Woke up from a vivid sex dream, and in this drowsy state I couldn't resist it.

      The bat got beaten

Ah well, I will learn from this and avenge this day!

My fight came to an end last night, will stop this challenge for now. I'll only attempt it when I can keep myself preoccupied xD Ended on day 3

Failed on day 12. Beating my personal best is harder than I thought. Anyway, I'll be taking a break from the challenge. I might take it again next week.

Well done Weakamon, for all people who want to beat the bat.. ops I mean beat your old record here is some inspiration!

As for me, I am deciding to do my really best to stop jacking off until I can make it happen without using my hands, (and no I am not talking about sticking a sock under my mattress (your welcome)) I am talking about until I can make a fine lady do it for me.

I am changing my life, and if someone is as active as I was in this thread, I guess you should too. Serriously riding unicorns in dreams is all great, but why dream of having a dream when you can live it? Change your life right now and begin by watching this clip:

Half term is coming up next week and it's a great opportunity to attempt this challenge again. I'll take note of it and hope I get further.

I haven't faped for a long time now thanks to a girl that I have (haha don't go there.) I haven't done anything with her yet but I don't feel the need to fap anymore. Let's see how many days it is ehm ... Day 6 today Holy Shit!

Here is the story and well even though it's not all because I didn't fapped it's still a result from it, because when you stop fap you will not get content and find a lame excuse to not talk to girls. When you hold it mother nature finds a freaking reason and motvation to get that girl!

I had approach anxiety, but this weekend I thought "Fuck it, let's fail and do everything wrong until I fucking learn how to talk, time for rejection(s)!". I went to the club with some guy friends and I boldly approached two girls by the bar who were alone, I talked to them and flirted for a while then since it was so fun I started to talk to more and more groups of girls. Later in the night I met the two girls again and I got her number and many smiles, I should have gone for the kiss but I didn't. Anyway she texted me "Good morning" next morning and I texted for a while and then I asked her out and she said yes.

She turned out to be a model! And well she wants to meet up again. Today I talked with a friend of mine who ironically also is a model and I told her this story, and apparantly my guy friends have talked about my awesome night as well, and she was up to party one night. So I will bring her as a friend when I go out with the other girls.

So next time I go out I will have 3 girls as my company which of two of them are models. Lol I better suit up.

Why am I telling you this? I will now tell you how I look like and my story..

I am 5.7 feet tall, muscular-skinny body type and an Asian. I used to be shy with low confidence.
      Now it's over 9000!

Now think about how much ONE approach can make, so you have nothing to lose only alot to gain! Stop fap and get them ladies!

Good luck to all of you, alsi I should mention that I suck at talking most of her attraction was because of my boldness and confidence with everything I did, so talk about anything dare to fail and stop give a fuck about what others (including YOU) think and girls will love that! Also I did this SOBER! 4 hours of fun sober yes it is possible, also the guys who did it drunk made me seem like a fucking prince charming and the shy beer guys in the corners also made me look like a baws, I tried to motivate those beer guys to talk to girls as well but they were rude as fuck! What can you do...

If someone wants details of what I said and how I got a date through sms (with no texting experience with girls what so ever) just give me a message and I willglady share it to you.

Thumbs up STOP it with the ''No Masturbation/No-Fap'' fad unless you want testicular/prostate cancer.

I am talking about the ''365 days w/o Jerking Off: A self control challenge'' thread.

Most of the guys in that thread believe the whole ''No-Fap/No-Masturbation'' fad after watching a video full of pseudo/bro-science.

It's all placebo and it is actually dangerous, Not masturbating creates a higher chance of getting testicular/prostate cancer.

I'm fairly certain that the OP from that thread is a Miscer from the bodybuilding.com forums and he is spreading false information and brainwashing the members in this forum to participate in his unhealthy useless/worthless/pointless pathetic exercise that offers no benefits at all.

I'm sorry but i feel that it's my right to inform the members who are/might be curious about jumping on the bandwagon, it's incredibly stupid and offers nothing in return but denying yourself from one of life's greatest pleasures.

The members that are doing it because of ''testosterone increase'' should be aware that in reality there is only a small amount of higher testosterone during the first week of not masturbating, after the seventh day it continues to go down until it reaches the ''testosterone'' of a small child and creates a much bigger chance of getting testicular/prostate cancer.

I can't believe it, i feel like i am taking craze pills, why does this stupid unhealthy dangerous fad have so many followers? jesus...

      Pathetic.

      I'm new btw, Hello.

Some people don't masturbate for religious and personal reasons. You raise a few valid points. But, saying that not masturbating is "Dangerous" is False/True. One out of every two people will get some form of Cancer in their lifetime. It is also speculated that if you lived long enough it is inevitable that you will get cancer. But, I hope that most people would want to stop masturbating for moral or ethic reasons rather than some "Bro-Scienece" video. But, Not masturbating is not a death-sentence. Also, people who do masturbate it isnt unhealthy it can be quite healthy.
