They have split up searching into category, unlike how we usually search on Windows 7 and all your files, programs are displayed at once. Searching on Windows 8 is split up into apps, files and tools I think.

I much prefered how that worked in Windows 7. If I want to open control panel, for instance, I could just type "control" and hit enter on windows 7. On windows 8 I will have to change category using the mouse, and this using much more time.

I've never been able to get into linux. I find the transition to be very hard. I'm not exactly sure why. And it's not that it's to difficult or such, I've had a headless linux box running for years. It just isn't comfortable as a desktop install.
