Question Request a PC part list!

      Oh hai guyz

      iz mah twitcha

Anyways, recently I have been interested in computers and I was wondering if anyone needs a computer part list.

I am gonna make some pre-sets for people that I will post shortly.

Tell me what you need it for and your budget and it should be easy, go ahead!

      1000$ Red Gaming Build
      http://pcpartpicker.com/user/TwitchyCake/saved/n8bTwP
This is a 1020ish$ gaming build, specifically red and black (and the power supply is kinda gold, nice touch)
It has a overclockable i5 4670k intel procceser. It also have a great gaming motherboard from Asrock, one of the best
A 120 gb crucial SSD for the Operating System and a 750 GB 7200 RPM HDD for games, media, and anything inbetween.
It has a thermaltake 750 power supply and a great Bitfenix case. It also includes a Asus GeForce 760 2GB video card, which is a great card but if you want to play games on 4K then I suggest some better ones.

The reason why their is no Optical Drive is because most stuff, including games, are all available online now. Optical drives are slowly becoming obsolete, but tell me if you like this set but want a optical drive.
I picked Windows 8.1 because 8.1 is a great improvement from Windows 8 and works better, but tell me if you want the good ol' windows 7.

      EDIT: Edited to Dutchs idea.

Shouldn't this be in the Tech Talk section? Anyways, my Core 2 Duo @3GHz and HD6870 (bottlenecked as hell) is enough for now

What kind of fool, what kind of fool am I? I look for shadows in the sun, and memories of days to come.

I would either ditch the 760 for a 270X that's about 30 dollars cheaper, or get rid of the harddrive. Then with the spare money I'd get a samsung evo 240gb or a crucial mx100 256gb.

Though from what I've heard both the 760 and 270X are excellent in terms of price/performance ratio.

Oh good idea dutch, I see we have another computer nerd around here

Yeah 760 I also heard was decent, and I'll change the SSD. Good thinking!

I've got the mx100 256gb version myself, and an external 500gb. I don't really use much space though so I never fill my ssd more than 60% percent.
The mx100 has an excellent price ratio at 40c/gig. The samsung is a little more expensive but boasts a guaranteed lifetime.

SSD increase their write speed as they get larger, so ideally the mx100 512gb version is the best price/performance but it's still a large amount of money. The most worrying aspect of this ssd is the new 16nm process and how it pans out. From what I know the controller in it is a sturdy chip known for reliability.

I'm checking the PC component world almost every day because my 4870 x2 sapphire might be up for an update soon. The fact is plays skyrim on high is boss but it makes a lot of noise and the power usage is immense.
