Coverage wasn't like that when I saw it on...abc I think.... But I watch spanish channel. Much better and it always plays the games.

I was only half watching that game on Monday, and I took a peek at about 75 minutes in, and the score was 0-1 Japan right? So I log on to DV chat and see Roller in there, and say "Awww, too bad for Australia, Japan kicked your ass HAHA!"

Then Australia scored 3 times in the last 10 minutes and I missed the whole thing

You know what's sad? I've been following the World Cup, watching most of the games and such... I have no idea who I'm supporting though... I should say USA.

Ah, nice to see LFC 2 - T&T 0 went down well here as well

Lennon was amazing when he came on, I think he was much more of an influence than Rooney, who as a supposed striker, never seems to actually score. Sure, he was better than Owen (who shouldn't be put back in the team till he actually starts performing again), but I don't think Rooney is the be-all and end-all of the England squad, lets face it, out of every England match he's played, Crouch has scored, and Gerard has done nothing but score for both England and LFC. Lampard and Terry had a good game as well, here's hoping they only get better.

I'm hoping for another 5-0 vs Germany, which would be sweet. That said, I can't wait for it to finish and TopGear to return!

Anyone watching US vs Italy??? What the hell! This referee sucks! This game is so unfair it's sick. He needs to be fired....

Well, despite the horrible calls, the US team played a great match. They've come along way to play at that level.

That was funny when the Italian guy elbowed the US player in the face and protested his innocence, even when the poor guy had blood streaming down his face. He deserved that red card and more.

Sigh... good game though

the refs have been told to clamp down on a number of issues this time round
including tackles from behind
tackles where studs are shown
sliding with both feet forward
physical contact in the 6-yard box
repeated fouling
etc.

I have to say, I didn't disagree with any of the ref's decisions in the italy v usa match - that was one dirty game
the italian team knew they'd get lynched if they couldn't see the usa off

You really thought that last call should have been red card? A yellow card, maybe, but that was hardly anything to get upset about. It was an honest tackle. Neither of the two should have been red cards. I'm with Ophelia. He must have been having his man period....

But who cares...Brazil won! :bravo:

I say damn straight to that. The ref's only major good call was the Italian red flag, and that was so obvious a 5 year old who's never seen a soccer ball could have made that call. But then he just had to make a make up call, and kick out the US player on an accidental tackle that deserved a yellow card AT MOST, I've seen people do worse and just get a foul called on them! And to make matters worse, 2 minutes into the second half, he gave the other US guy a second yellow card on the same thing. I mean, come on, pull the guy aside and warn him, don't throw him out 2 mins into the second half over an accidental foul move, that generally gets just that, a foul. America played a great game though, pulling off a tie against all odds playing Italy while down a man. 9 on 10...that sounds like pure torture. Go America! I can't wait to see the US vs. Ghana and the Italy vs. Czech Republic games. Go Italy and America!

With a little luck, we can make it to the finals this year. Even if we end up second in our group, we'll have to face Portugal (we can have them), then England (shouldn't be that hard), then Brazil (If they even make it that far the way they're playing now).

After all that, a miracle will somehow undo the terrible injustice(not sure if that's a word) of the 1974 World Cup by letting the Orange team beat Argentina and thus granting the best country never to have won the cup its rightful prize.

Other than that, I hope Australia, South Korea and Trinidad & Tobago get far (shows how much false hope can be within one person doesn't it?), because they have Dutch coaches. And the same goes for Ghana, cause I love they way they and the Ivory Coast play (Too bad Ivory Coast was in our group).

How dare you!...no you're right. They really need to pick it up. The important thing is they're winning, i guess, but their defense wasn't looking so great against australia. But I think they'll know how to put it together as things heat up.
