[11:09:35] <funnyperson> The internet was first thought of in 1960 should we stop using it
are you talking about IRC?
well its sorta the same thing with old appliances... they don't make 'em like they used to. Back in 1995, the computers sucked great ass, so they had to make a chat that the computers of the day could handle. Now in present day 2006 we've got about 12x the computing power, 1000x the internet bandwidth, super 1600x1200 resolutions with graphics cards that support anti-aliasing, real time raytracing, HDRI, and all these honky dory applications where more thought is put into making it look nice than there is into making it actually work good, its just all a load of bullcrap. The reason I support IRC is because it runs in the background of my computer without taking up hardly any extra processing power. As for FlashChat, well, when its open in the background, my processor's working at around 10 percent rather than just the 0-1 it normally runs at when doing idle internet stuff. And that makes my computer hotter. And that makes the fans run more. Making a lot of noise. Giving me a headache. And all that heat from the 8000 members at DV's computer will ultimately lead to the inevitable heat death of the universe, a little faster than it would have happened if there were no flash chat!!!!
