I took all the following vitamins about 1.5 hrs ago with dinner:

- multivitamin
- glucosamine chondroitin
- omega-3 fatty acid
- vitamin E

...and I swear I feel really buzzed. But in a not so good way... ew

maybe I shouldn't have taken them all at once. I've never taken the omega-3 or vitamin E before...

Well I take the multivitamin for obvious reasons, and the glucosamine chondroitin because it helps support joints and cartilage (and I broke my back and ankle about 4 years ago).

My mom gave me some of her extra vitamin E to help support new cellular skin growth/repair (because of my wrist wound), and she also had some extra omega-3 that she gave me just for the hell of it.

hmm, reading this over again, I sound pretty prone to serious injury, don't I?

five is a lot better than 0

I was wondering, could you find those things in the foods we eat?

I've never heard of omega-3

Yes, vitamin E (tocopherol) is found in nuts, whole grains, fish, peanut butter, leafy greens, and sunflower seeds.
Omega-3 fatty acids are found in fish, eggs, milk, cheese, and red meat.

Omega-3 is an essential fatty acid, meaning the body cannot produce its own, it must be supplement through diet. It helps prevent heart disease, decrease "bad" cholesterol (LDL), and increase "good" cholesterol (HDL).

wow, what a boring thread, LOL

Hey, well I guess you realize that vitamin E is really really amazing at helping wounds heal with minimal scarring. You should get some vitamin E cream to rub on it...or else just break open a gel capsule and rub it directly on the cut.

Yeah that's what I was thinking - maybe instead of taking them orally, I'll just use the liquid inside the capsules.

I'll have to wait until the damn wound fully closes though, a part of it keeps opening and won't heal

That should work but it would probably sting though .

you will get used to taking so many vitamins .. my mum is a freak when it comes to that - I am taking waaaaaayy more every day and I don't feel ew
Omega-3 is fishoil and it raises e.g. the oxygen going to brain, heart, muscles; increases your motivation, performance and energy-resources. Oh and here it says that the positive Eicosanaoids contained in the Omega-3 help the healing of wounds a lot. .. it also helps your fingernails and hair to grow faster
I know those can cause stomach-aches though ... if you didn't eat right before.

Thanks for the info, Slight

I've never been one to take a lot of vitamins (taking my Pill every night is enough to remember). But I thought if it would help my wound, I'd try it. I just don't want to take too much of anything - because there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. There's probably no risk of that with me, though, because it's not like I'm the healthiest eater in the world.

What vitamins/supplements do you take?

At the moment I am taking multivitamin, black-carawayoil, omega-3, vitamin c .. here and there it differs, then I drink water with Cayenne Pepper, or the roots of Ingwer with boiled water - which is probably more because of the taste than for its health effects. What's also supposed to be very good is taking 2 spoons of Olive-oil each day .. I've also taken Spirulina and other stuff I can't think of .. well just like I said it differs, and I also don't want to pump too much of stuff that's still on debate into me ...

That sure is alot of vitamin. Well at least it is vitamin, not prozac. I am really against the american-ish mentality that when something doesn't feel right: pop a pill. Some vitamin supliments are fine, but you shouldn't get to dependant on your daily dose of random pills or something.

The thing I don't like about vitamins is... they're huge pills!
I think I have one stuck sideways in my throat right now. *cough*

I had my shoulder nicely broken last year, but I don't take any vitamins or suspicious pills.
I wonder why do you take so huge amounts of this artificial staff?
Fresh vegetables, fruits and fish of any kind - is my favourite and undoubtedly one of the healtiest diet.

I'm not taking huge amount of this stuff. And none of it is 'suspicious' - I know exactly what it is I'm taking. You'd be stupid to take something if you didn't know what it was.
It's recommended that you take a multivitamin anyway, even if you eat healthy.

I know, I know. Mulitivitamin yes, but without exaggeration. Common sense the first thing.

And look who's talking...? The one who sometimes drink 10 bottles of beer by the evening's grill...
I'm tired being sorry.
