      lol

people always used to be amazed at how, dispite the number of books I read, that I couldn't spell most "comman" words properly.

I wonder what they think now!

I think that is why proof reading your own work ...doesn't work. You know in your mind what you wanted to say, then you read right over incorrect or misspelled words.

I've seen these many times before, and they are still cool. However, the last one I saw was really strange. It sarted like all the others, saying how research was done nad it's a proven fact. Then it got into how god created the world in seven days, and before I knew it, the words were all spelled correctly and it was just talking about how unbaptized people would burn in hell. I think it was an attempt to convert souls to some reborn Christian church, I was actually kind of freaky.

Spelling and grammar DO matter. In the example given by redeyewolfking, all the words are spelt correctly, but jumbled up in the middle. This is why typos are often so easy to miss.

But when there's a spelling or grammatical error, for instance, "Comman", it sticks out like a sore thumb. Because, our brain looks and the first and last letter, but it ALSO looks in the middle and checks the right letters are there, regardless of order. When it sees that there's a letter there that shouldn't be, it notices.

Now, everybody makes the occaisional typo. Also, there are some people who jumple up letters in words... sort of like a mild form of written dyslexia - it's obvious the words are SPELT write, but the letter order is just wrong. But, it has to be said that people who constantly misspell words (not just get letters in the wrong order) and use bad grammar come off as sounding stupid.
