      You know what annoys me?

I mean...you know what REALLY JUST ANNOYS THE HELL OUT OF ME??!!

...people that can't sit down and watch a movie. That's what.

Even when they plan on it. Even when they say "Yeah, go ahead and start the movie" (especially when it's a great movie) and then, all through the movie, they are getting up, roaming around, getting the urge to do something like talk on the phone, wash dishes, cook, text message, or whatever the hell else, missing the very best parts of the movie. Then, what do they do? They get settled back in, and they ask you, "So what did I miss?"

      GOD I hate that.

Case in point: Spiderman 2 is on right now. My uncle is staying with us for a little while, and I know that both he and my mom love a good fight scene, just like I do. So, I tell them that Spider-Man 2 is on, and I'm just waiting for the famous El-Train fight (one of the best fights ever, cinematically, IMO). So, what happens? They both sit through all of the dull dialogue, and the slow parts, understandably getting the feeling that the movie isn't all that exciting. Then (as fate would have it) 2 FREAKING MINUTES before one of the greatest fights ever comes on, they both find something to do. My mom goes in her room and does God knows what, and my uncle gets on a 30 minute phone call and takes it outside.

So, I sit there, watching this awesome feat of special effects and super-hero badassedness, and look around to see that I'm watching it (something that I've watched 100's of times, and never get tired of) alone.

Then, to add insult to injury, momz comes back in, 30 freakin seconds after the scene is over and says "...so...what did I miss?"

I know what you mean O. Even worse to me are people that keep stating the obvious during movies and who try to anticipate the plot or who just talk in general, my mother has a nack for that...

      Ha.

Fun fact: I can accurately predict most movies 10- 15 mins into it, about 5 mins into the future.

      Most people can.

      I hate that too!

Although Im not going to lie , in the past people have made me sit down, watch a boring movie, and I absolutely couldn't get up. So what do I do? Talk during movie. I love critisizing movies when someone forces me to watch it with them.

Like my dear old friend. She made me watch anime crap for 2 hrs straight. She's also made me watch episodes of Salad Fingers, read out loud for 2ish hrs straight form a popular anime book. I mean, do I really give a crap! And of course it would be impolite to get up, which I did anyway. So, if someones not really interested, who cares! watch it alone. Hmph ** thinks about hours wasted*

Then you are slow, or the movies you watch are too simple.

I'd like to say that those people that say they can accurately predict what's going to happen in a movie (however many minutes into the movie) spend too much of their time trying to predict what's going to happen in the movie, rather than enjoying it, objectively.

What would be impolite would be to tell her that you'd sit down and watch it, in the first place. If you have no plans on committing to it, and giving it a fair chance, then don't paint the picture that you're going to. If you do, and you sit down to watch it, at least have the attention span to sit through it and give it a fair shot, instead of deciding "screw this" in the middle of it, and talking through the rest.

Mes: Yeah, I've never understood the "name at the end of a post" thing, either.

I entirely agree Mes, it makes absolutely no sense. Aside from the fact that the user name is to the left, these people who feel the need to leave a SIGNATURE at the end of there post... could very well use the signature function to put their signature in, now couldn't they?

      -ExoByte

This space is reserved for signature text. A signature goes here. A signature is static combination of words at the end of a post. This is not a signature. Its a signature placeholder. One day my signature will go here.

      Signed,
      Me

      Confusion. Fuck it.

I sometimes like to leave my name as a courtesy to a personal reply to a message. For example if there is a sensitive topic or something on a more personal level I will sign off the message with my name. Just a habit I guess, sorry to all those I cause offence too

Sometimes I'll sign my real name in a PM. It's different for you Adam cuz your real name is your username.. but like yeah, there would be no point whatsoever of me signing "Mes Tarrant," ever.

P.S. I hope the people who actually do this on a regular basis see this thread. Knowing my luck, they won't.

I know that would be impolite, but you got it wrong.

I am talking about people who jump in front of you and say "I want to watch this movie." They basically go to your own T.V. and turn it on, and sit down, watching you.
They want you to sit down and watch it, even if you say "I really dont have the time...". They say, "Come on, just watch the beginning".
After the beggining is done and you try to leave they're like, "Come on the best part is coming." So on and so forth. Then, they get annoyed if you leave.
Now, if you want them to watch some movie you like, they refuse to watch it.
I know what Im talking about. I wouldnt agree to watch a movie unless I was planning ot sit down for 2 hrs.

Anyway, when someone asks me to watch a movie with them, I always ask what it's about first. if it sounds good, I agree to sit down for a bit and check it out. Like "Ill see if I like it" I dont agree to anything, even say "If it's boring Im leaving." If they're dissappointed that I left after that, too bad. I told them beforehand.

What annoys me? Attention whores. When the attention is not on them they make remarks/comments in a desperate attempt to bring the limelight back on them...if it fails they will make a comment about how chat is boring and leave...I despise them.
