I read somewhere that if you bend the toes on the cramped leg upward with your hand (or your other foot).. it relieves the cramp. I tried it and it does help.

Yup. I get those often (I often don't drink enough water, during the day) and that's the best way to get rid of them.

I hate those too, though. They usually get me after I've been jogging, or swimming with fins on. I remember the worse episode I had with them at night, though. I woke up and had one in both legs at the same time. It was f'cking torture.

Thanks Clairity, I'll try that next time. I find that regular stretching of the calf muscles helps to prevent it... helps really well, in fact. The problem is I can rarely remember to do that.

Oh man, I don't get these, but sometimes after I've done sport, and then I go and sit for a while with my legs under the chair, then my knee like, clicks out of place or something, and it feels incredibly fragile and painful until I make myself move it. Then it clicks audibly back in, which hurts like hell, and then it's OK again, thank god.

Anyone else ever had it? I thought I'd got rid of it when it didn't happen for about 6 months, but it just happened the other day must be something to do with the winter.

Heh. It just gets on my nerves. It's just funny how internet phenomena like that get started by a single person, even if they don't make any sense ("lollerskates", "roflcopters" and all that), and they just spread. It's just...weird to me.

Actually, you can go ahead and add L337 5P34K, to that list.

"roflcopters"?? I've never heard of that but I'm ashamed to admit that I find it funny.

"lulz" in general doesn't annoy me, but someone quoting a really long post just to put a "lol" or "lulz" as a reply annoys me.

Funny, for me a charlie horse is when you get hit really hard on the front of your thigh, it hurts like hell and it usually leaves a nasty bruise. It's quite common to get hit by someone's knee there while playing certain sports, they can also be caused by ass friends...

I don't know why I find that so funny, but I've just been overcome with a massive "man, I'm glad not to be that guy" feeling ...


The worst time I ever got one of those cramps (they're always in the calf muscles for me) was about half an hour before I was supposed to go flying. I was so scared that I would get another one at the controls, man that would have been poor timing ...

Oh my days dont move your toes when you have cramp in your calf! Because if just moves to the base of your foot - and let me tell you that is a lot worse, it has you jump up and you have to stand up to make it go away!

I have sometimes gotten cramp in the bottom of my feet through just curling my toes when........... Well you don't need details, but it damn well hurts!!

They laugh and say, "Pshh, I don't want to put $4 on my credit card." I say, "Why not?", waiting for a logical reason... and they just kind of mumble something incoherent, then change the subject very rapidly to avoid more questions of the same nature.

I hate that so much, I seriously am in a bad mood now.

People who use debit cards to pay for inexpensive items in a fast flowing environment (cafeteria ). It makes huge line-ups and it pisses everyone off, just carry a couple dollars at all times so that you don't have to punch in your PIN number for a freaking cup of coffee...

In my experience, using cards has always been faster.
