Tell Me About Your Scariest Experience!

Similar to the thread in beyond dreaming.

Tell me the one time you were scared the most. It can be if you saw a ghost, a time you were at a halloween haunted house... a prank that your best friend threw on you... anything!

      Have fun!
You do this every fucking time.
      No sweat.
      No tears.
      No guilt.
You do this every fucking time.

This happened when me and my brother were only about 8 years old:

Me, dad, mom and my brother were going to my Aunt's house for a Halloween party (even though Halloween was still a few weeks away). My Aunt lives in the countryside and it was late at night. My mom was dressed up in a very creepy Grim Reeper costume. Our plan was that my mom was going to walk up to my Aunt's house and scare everyone. She got out of thr car and started walking while me, dad and my brother stayed in the car. Suddenly, my Aunt's neighbore came out of his house and saw my mom in the costume and he thought she was a burglar. He went to his small shed and grapped a rifle and pointed it at her while he was hiding behing a tree. At this point me and my brother were crying our eyes out and my dad jumped out of the car and explained to the crazed neighbore that it was just a pre-halloween prank.
I'm glad my mom wasn't shot dead, it was a close call though.

      Do a reality check.

I was chased by Arabs construction workers on a jeep. Me and my friends got some, well a lot of wood from their construction place to build a tree house. One day we got surprised by them Arabs. We all ran to different directions but they decided to chase me cause I was the tallest. -_- Eventually I jumped from a pretty tall ledge they couldn't follow me but they got out of the jeep and threw rocks at me. I'm pretty sure if they would have got me I would get beat up. Just how this sounds unreal thats how I felt at that time.

      oh wow that's rather easy.

Ok a few years ago i was on a trip in Cyprus. We went on one of those donkey riding treck things around the coast. At one point we were walking right near the edge of a cliff with the sea below. So while we are riding our donkeys randomly grab plants to eat while they are walking. Anyway my donkey decides, in his infinite wisdom, that the particular plant he'd like was the one growing out of a crack just off the edge of the cliff. So the donkey does right to the edge and tips its head all the way down to grab it. Obviously this puts the donkeys back at basically 45 degrees off the edge of the cliff. So i'm like hysterically clinging onto the donkey and hoping the damn thing doesn't fall off the cliff with me on it. Trust me having a view off the sea below right in front of you is damn scary and the cliff was very tall. Luckily after failing to pull the plant away from the cliff with it's first bite, the donkey gave up and managed to reverse ok.

hmm i dont know if this is my scariest event, but i cant think of anything else.

Me and my friends were going out into the mountains to have a little fun. It was almost spring so it was warm in the day, but it was very cold at night still. We were really stupid and didnt tell anyone where we were going. We were amost at the top of the mountain when we decided to turn around. My friend was the one driving. he said that he found a short cut and decided to take that down. AFter almost losing control of the car and sending us off a cliff, we ended up high centered and we couldnt get out. We were stuck miles from nowhere with no cell phone service, no food, no water, and nobody knew where we were. We had to walk. We decided to follow the road, for a little. Then everyone decided to take ANOTHER short cut (as if the first one wasnt bad enough ) they took off into the woods. This freaked me out the most. It was either stay on the road all alone, or stay with the group. I stayed with the group. It was getting dark and cold and we were all tired and hungry when we stopped cause we couldnt see anything. It was pitch black. We made a fire and tried to sleep. It was the longest night of my life. I only slept like 30 min. out of the whole night. When we woke up we looked around to see where we were, and we stopped about 10 ft from a cliff. We climbed down the cliff, and hiked all that day, till we finally got cell phone service. It was only for like 2 min. but it was enough to get a call out. Some ATVs found us and gave us a ride to the the cops who then called our parents and told them where we were to come get us. There were some scary moments during those 2 days.

probably not the scariest moment of my life, but yeah.

When it happened, I wasn't really scared, but in retro prospect, I always feel all crazy about it.

I was on this cliff on a danish island called Bornholm. The only place with cliffs in Denmark. Here, I was pointing at this weird cliff, that looked like a butt, laughing a bit, and my friend laughed too. Calmly, my teacher said (it was a class trip thing) "Hey Erik, look out behind you", and I turned around, and was only 1 meter from the edge. If I had fallen, it would have been instant death, unless I would've managed to glide to the lake a bit longer out, but that would be extremely unlikely. I think I was in complete control though, and was aware of the cliff edge, but everytime I think back, I'm terrified

Got two equal ranking scary moments. The first one:

When I was taking flying lessons a few years ago, I was about 16. I was learning in a plane that was a taildragger, which means it has two main wheels at the front and a little one under the tail which makes it sit nose up on the ground.

We were the first flight of the day, and took off from the airfield, which is bordered by a river on one side and a main road on the other, and in the direction we had took off a few miles off the runway, power lines.

The engine temperature went through the roof, and it promptly went very sick. We didn't have enough height to get over the power lines, and not enough to jump out (we did have parachutes).

The instuctor took over and put the nose down, and the engine picked up slightly, allowing us to make a very gradual turn at low level coming back round to the field and landing without incident.

What turned out to have caused this was there was a new fitter working on these planes and he had dipped the oil before we flew. According to the dipstick it was overfilled, but it should be done with the plane on a level, not sitting nose up. Fitter then went and emptied the "excess" oil out, leaving the engine very little to work with.

      Second one:

I went into hospital for an operation, it went wrong, I lost a lot of blood (too much) and nearly died. It certainly didn't feel that nice. Fortunately for me the bleeding eventually stopped (after 14 hours...) but the only way to find out what popped was to open me up again. I didn't like it.

      Regards

      Ric

Anyway my scariest experence is from a few months ago when i was crossing the street and a drunk lightly nudged me with his car when i was on my bike.

Well i fingered him....he almost hit my friend who was on his shitty old bike.

anyway i went down the hill on the other side and i saw something...his car went around the U turn thing and was coming at me down the road and they were yelling um obsenities if thats what you wanna call them "hey you kid".

Anyway thats when my adrenaline kicked in i biked through the car wash, leaving my friend in the dust, not that im way faster then him or anything but he was on a realy really shitty bike i think we can all relate to that.

Anyway im through the car wash and the drunk guys are on the adjacent rode or whatever coming at me. I go throught he school parking lot hoping to lose them but they come at me. It was so scary, the drunk ppl are drifting through the dirt in the school parking lot and comin at me.

there is a narrow opening in the fence for people to walk through i go through it with my bike and i go to the trees. I can distantly hear my friend calling out to me..."forget him keep going".

Once i get to the field, my chain comes off and i ditch the bike and keep on running. Later i meet up with my friend and he tells me the ppl stoped him and were swearing at him about stuff but if they got me instead the guy who fingered them they woulda probably kicked my ass

      Hmmm...

Last year, I think...My best friend and I were sleeping over one of our other good friend's house. We caught a ride, all three of us, from one of her friends. Her parents were gone, I forget where, but they were coming back later. So we were alone in the house. We got in and just sat on the couch. Her dog kept barking and looking up the stairs, walking back towards the kitchen, then going and barking back by the stairs. My friend, Chels, kept telling her dog to hush. Em and I were getting kinda freaked....but kinda messing around..saying like..oh what if someone's up there.. my friend decided to kind of freak us by saying..oh yeah she never does this blah blah blah...

Then, my friend was like, okay come on let's just go up to my room and change..so we started to go up the stairs...my friend, Chels, turned around quickly and ran back down into the kitchen. She told us that her door was closed and that she never closes her door. And, that her light was on inside and that she NEVER leaves it on because she has fish. So, we ran outside the back door. All of a sudden Chels screamed, it was like..a blood curdling scream. She said she saw a man run into the kitchen then run out...that freaked us all so bad!

In the end, we got out of the backyard, caught someone walking their dog and asked to borrow the phone..I am sure that someone was there...but we never will know for sure.
      Hawaiian....nuff sed.

Mines not too interesting... I have selacophobia, fear of sharks, and once when I was young my parents made me go swimming in the sea, out to a raft about 50m off shore. Sounds pretty weak compared to all the others, but it was pretty horrific.

Also, once I woke up and was feeling kinda drowsy. I looked up and there was a figure right next to my bed. Don't know why it freaked me out so much but next thing I knew I was outside my room screaming my head off and getting ready to attack the intruder... who didn't exist, apparantly.

My hubby and I went to a concert this summer and came home pretty drunk. Well we passed out in bed and shortly past 2am, the house alarm started going off, sirens wailing, the whole bit.

Both of us were dead asleep and still mostly drunk, so we were completely disoriented and started freaking out when the alarm started going off. My immediate thought was that someone was trying to break in, so we grabbed a gun apiece and went to investigate.

We went through the house, our hearts beating wildly and me feeling like I was going to throw up from nerves. We got to the keypad and shut the alarm off so it would stop wailing. Then the phone rang and it was the alarm company wondering if we needed the police dispatched. James asked them was zone had been faulted to set the alarm off and they said it was the door to James' computer work room, which we keep closed at night.

He passed the phone to me, got himself ready, and flung open the door. And there's Titus sitting there looking up at us. Apparently he got locked in the computer room when we went to bed, and was jangling the door trying to open it and faulted the zone, setting the alarm off.

I have never been more scared, and then so relieved in my entire life! James' words were, "That goddamn cat just took 5 years off my life!"
