What relaxes you?

Hi all!

Except for dreaming, what relaxes you? I don't know if a thread like that has been already created before...but I think it's a good question. So I'll start. For me, what really makes me relax is the rain or the sound of the sea. The sound of the waves or when there's plenty of rain. It's the most relaxing thing for me. Even music can't make me feel that way. In fact, most of the times it even makes me more agrassif. So...how about you?

A book, nearly any genre. Nothing can be more relaxing for me.

And music - of most genres.

well rain is very relaxing, mostly really heavy rain in the summer at night! also jumping in a really cold pool at 6am is good, not so much relaxing as more refreshing! or that feeling on the last day of finals when you are finally home and realize that summer is there!! cant think of much other stuff now, but i will think about it!

Shooting, punching bags, sparring, sports... Something that lets me let go of all my aggression, frustration and manly hormones. I come out of it all peaceful and happy

. Quiet, sedentary stuff just makes me fidgety and agitated.

Water is the most relaxing. Hearing it, standing in it, drinking it. We descended from water, it is a prerequisite to life, and never have we truly strayed from it. Our young are still born from an ocean, no matter if it's a miniature one...

I must have missed that lesson in Anatomy where we found that out.

Writing is relaxing for me, talking can be relaxing for me, and sometimes when I get really really stressed I turn up the volume on my headphones and just listen to some good music. That helps take the edge off things.

sex really is relaxing for me.

If I'm upset or mad or whatever.... I usually forget about it after sex... unless it's THAT bad.

playing my drums for a good half hour. THATS relaxing, just getting tottaly imersed in the music you're making. i come out of the garage (where my drum set is) completly refreshed (and half deaf, i like to play loud).
and dawing, i really like drawing. especialy when designing one of my cars. but it can get frustrating when i have to redraw a line a zillion times when i dont get it right.

One of the things that really relaxes me is soaking my feet in very warm vibrating water.

If you've never tried it.. I highly recommend it.

It probably is more relaxing for men than wimin, but as far as relaxation comparison between a man and a woman? Not so much difference, really just depends on the person

Folk music. My favorites for relaxation is "Girl from north country" by bob dylan and "Try and catch the wind" by Donovan

Also classical music.

Good music, especially symphonic metal. Also going out for a nice long walk with a big stick and hitting things. Primitive, but it works. Thinking, sometimes. A nice hot shower works wonders as well, as does sitting in the hot tub for an hour or so. Heck, sometimes just talking to somebody on DV chat can help.

I guess this is more relieving stress than relaxing, but it's basically the same thing.
