The Piano: What can you play?

      Serious thread is serious.

Well, today I just learned the Song of Storms from legend of Zelda, and feel pretty damn accomplished.

      I can play the following
Heart and Soul (both parts, not intro)
      Dark Blue by Jacks Mannequin
Song of Storms from Legend of Zelda

Taken piano for about 5 years, recently quit for lack of motivation. Go me.
Classic Entertainer(Joplin), the bass left hand for Linus and Lucy, and a bunch of random songs I used to preform.

I could play Fur Elise up to the third movement... lack of practice has made that impossible
I plan on learning Moonlight Sonata's first movement and a few zelda songs (zelda RUUUUULEEEZZZ)

I can play pretty much anything I hear, but I can only play basic notes. My brain and hands aren't dextrous or coordinated enough to play chords.
And I can't read music to save my life.

      Congrats on your accomplishment!

reading sheet music and playing jazz is like riding a bike and Tom Cruise. Completely unrelated.

I don't think you quite got it.

I play mostly rock piano, but I've recently started getting into modern jazz. The Bad Plus is incredible.

J.S. Bach's Prelude in C Major from the Well-Tempered Clavier
an arrangement of Henry Mancini's Moon River
a really simplified version of Herbie Hancock's Chameleon (bass and melody)
a really simplified version (bass and melody) of The Chicken (often attributed to Jaco Pastorius, I can't remember who actually composed it)

...as well as some stuff my friend and I have composed.
