Thread: Tell me about when you really bombed a test

Today I had 2 bigs tests in back to back periods. The first one was AP chem and our tests are 60% take homes and then a 20 question in class multiple choice test that counts as the other 40%. I usually get around 17-20 right but today I only got 6 of them right. Freakin acids and bases.

Then right after completely doing horrible on that I went to the next period which was a jere test that counts as 4 test grades. Jere is an evil book in english class that has vocab and grammar and stuff. The test was a 76 word crossword puzzle where we had to fill in words out of the like 1000 we covered this time with no word bank (we got to use our book but its impossible to find many words in the time) and then like 30 questions on random people my teacher talked about because they were in the sentences. I'm pretty sure I failed that even though I think everyone else did too.

I'm the kind of person thats used to 100% on everything so today wasn't the best day ever but o well, can't change it now.

Anyone else completely bomb any important tests?

Not usually, I just suck up everything in class, so I barely study. I did completely bomb a history test, since I was sick for half the section, then we took a break in the middle of it, so when we got back, almost all of it had been pushed out of my mind. Out of 46 points I got 9.

I know what you mean, luckily at my school everyone's homework stems off of two people. Thats how many people cheat in my class.

I always do my homework because if you don't then your grade drops a ton and homework usually isn't too bad.

The problem with AP chem is that he doesn't check the homework he assigns so we get no grades from that so we have like 3 test grades total and one of them is gonna be around a 70 for me. I didn't do the homework but I did read and understand most of the chapter its just that the stuff on the test was really random and I suck at figuring out stuff in chem. Math I can bs my way through, chem i can't.

Ya during Science we had a unit where we had to memorize the way something like 50 different plant species looked like.

The teacher told us none of that unit was going to be on the final exam so i decided i just wouldn't do anything during that unit on local plant species.

I just didn't anything during that period of a few weeks and on the test i just guesed eveyrhting and i failed like i expected too.

My motto for school is i put as litle effort as possible at evyerhting. The only time i ever actually studied for a science test i actually did pretty good at it.

Reminds me of the time when in 9th grade biology we had to memorize the scientific name of like 20 bacterias and the diseases they cause and stuff about them. The test on it was a blank piece of paper and we just had to write everything we knew. That kind of stuff is pointless because I guarantee I forgot everything as soon as I left the room that period.

Man, does THIS bring back a painful memory!

I was a junior with a beautiful 4.0 average going, sitting for a test in integral calculus in a class where the entire grade consisted of four exams, one of them the final, all equally weighted.

I sat down and forgot how to do differentials! I mean it was GONE. I stared at that test for the whole period... got as far into each equation as possible... and left knowing it was terrible.

The teacher did a double-take when returning it to me. Afterward, I pleaded and begged for mercy or a chance to do it again. I just simply blanked out. I had no reason, no excuse - my mind just wouldn't do it that night.

That 60 resulted in a B in that class, which was the end of my 4.0. In the end, it really made things easier, as I got a lot more relaxed about always being perfect. But the moment it went down was awful.

Hahaha. There would have been a lot of enemies made, with a system like that in some of my old schools.

Nah. The problem often wasn't that it was all that bad, it was just that I would rather be doing anything, after school, besides sitting at home doing homework. I was always out and about. I always had a "meh..whatever...I'll do it later, maybe..." kinda attitude about homework. Looking back, probably wasn't the best state of mind, but hey...

English class, I had been absent for a few days because I was sick. In that time my class had started some novel, and the day I came back was the first test on it. My teacher, forced me to take it.

I was very mad that day, I think I got like a 3 questions right out of...15? And that was only because I'm a good guesser.

That was completely unfair. Because even if I had known about the test, how was I supposed to get the novel? Sheesh.


Besides that, I go to school sometimes without any sleep. (Don't ask why ) This, for some reason, only affects math.
