"tree man"( unusual medical condition)

Sorry if this is a re-post, I'm sure some of you have heard of this guy already but basically he is suffering from something that is caused gigantic grows on this arms and legs( hands and feet mainly) which look like bark and then small ones all over him. I'm going to watch a program on him on Monday, it is the most unusual thing I've ever seen. Feel terrible for the poor guy though.. I remember seeing something about this in a Tv guide. It was a horrible thing to happen but if there is a cure then should be be able to get better. Depending on if he can buy the drugs ect. We are lucky people in comparison.

I feel bad for him, I hope his feet and arms can be "salvaged" when they try and fix his malady. Poor guy he must have gone through alot.

it isn't a fungal infection, apparantly it's the same virus that gives you normal warts(human papillomavirus), but he lacks something in his immune system and the virus has gone haywire.

So if they like tried to trim this stuff off, it would hurt? They advised him to remove the horn like protusions with nothing more sophisticated than a hacksaw which would not hurt or harm him. But the warts themselves are all connected to his own blood supply so he would bleed to death if they tried to remove them. In the end, they offered the guy a medicine which cause most of them to miraculously disappear and for him to avoid skin cancer (a certainty in 1 or 2 years if it goes untreated). He refused treatment and continues to perform in a freak show. I can kind of understand why - even if he does get healed mostly, he may still not be able to work, at least the freak show provided some income. Sad though, really sad.
