Leave it to MoS to give us that highly important and grand information. 1337 has lost it's coolness due to a bunch of loser using it all the time, that is if you're talking about the internet language, and not the actual year. |

Did you know that the year 1337 was a common year starting on Wednesday of the Julian calendar? What a remarkable coincidence, then, that this is my 1,337th post here on Dream Views, and that today just so happens to be Wednesday!

Not much happened in 1,337. Few people of note were born, and few people of note died. A war started, but the French started it, so it wasn't much of a war really. It only lasted a hundred-odd years. You'd think they'd have just given up and gone back to making those delicious fried potato sticks.
But they evidently preferred sticking people with pointy objects...

1337 was never cool. The point when a person stops being a loser may well coincide with his realization that it isn't cool. Congratulations for crossing over!

Well, 1337 was cool for about, the first few days people started using it. Just like if you ever made a made-up language with your friends, it's cool because no one knows what you're talking about, but after a while it's annoying. Originally Posted by skysaw

1337 was cool in that way, but I always thought the substituting of letters and stuff for numbers and symbols that look exactly like it dorky, uncool, and stupid.You do this every fucking time.

1337-speak, however, is massively annoying, and I loathe it. I've only ever used it once outside of its name, and that was for purposes of humorous irony.
