      Britain braced for cold snap

Parts of the UK are set to be hit by heavy snow this weekend, as a cold snap sweeps in from the Arctic.

Snow was falling yesterday in parts of Scotland and north-east England, with around 5cm in Aberdeen.

The freezing weather will continue to move down the east coast of the UK with snowfall predicted for much of the country on Sunday.

Temperatures in central and northern England are expected to drop as low as -5 Celsius with as much as 10cm of snow forecast.

A cold snap in late November would traditionally mark the start of winter - but this year has already seen snow covering parts of the south east of England, including London in late October.

In the UK most people like to talk about the weather for some reason. Mostly saying the weather is crap.

I don't really care about the weather so it annoys me when people do.

Sounds like England is a lot like Toronto. Toronto has been known to call in the army when they get a blizzard. Seriously. Yeah...

There's a reason why your scrotums are so loose. So it can shrivel up when the cold comes. But 5 below hardly warrants a crinkle.

gosh we're only a small country you know, first 5-1ocm of snow then the next minute the entire country is buried in 100m of it, ok it hasn't happened yet but it COULD! This is Artic weather people it's every man for emselves!

Also since BBC news is one of the shittiest news channels ever it wont be long until they start stopping people in the street and asking them how their going to cope, how they feel about it etc. I think they already have tbh.
Lugggs and cuddles and hugs for all!!

Yeah - Aberdeen's my hometown, w00t for making the news! I live in St. Andrews, about an hour south of Aberdeen, and we had a crapload of snow this weekend. Unfortunately, it was the weekend of our university's traditional foam fight. Result: mass hypothermia.
