Hate is to much of a strong word to use lightly, I don’t think i hate anything, things i dislike usually end up being something I dislike about myself. There is already enough hate in the world.

Oh, and how could I forget? One of my biggest pet peeves, I daresay peeve numero two, is people pronouncing Japanese wrong.

      Idiot #1: Tuck-eye
      Me: It's Tah-kay!

      Idiot #2: Kit-soon
      Me: Keet-soo-nay!

Etc. Actually, they aren't idiots, just uninformed and unfamilar with the language. But being an nihon no anime otaku, it still bugs me...

You are right though Ramu, to a certain point. You don't like when people are ignorant about Japanese *stuff*, I don't like when people are ignorant about Middle Eastern politics.

      Basically it boils down to...ignorance!

I dis aggree a little bit with that. I think actions can be hated, but people shouldn't be (not that there aren't some you want to knock out).

anywho, my pet peeve is people who talk a lot. And when they're done, they talk some more. And then they keep going.

I just remembered my BIGGEST pet peeve...when people say IRREGARDLESS.[/b]
haha. That remindds me of my English teacher. She saw the National American University commercial song on tv and saw that it said the word "alright" in there, but apparently that's not a word. She wrote a letter to them about it and she hasn't seen the commercial since .

-people who judge you before they even know you. Example: She's smart. I bet she reads the dictionary and studies all day and doesn't know how to have fun. That pisses me off so much. You can't determine someone's entire personality from one fact.
-people who won't listen to anything you say because they think they know better for whatever reason. Example:
Woman: You need to make sure you look for people with celiac disease. It's very common. I'm sure you have people who come in every day with symptoms.
Doctor: That disease is rare. No one has it.
Woman: 2.2 million people have it in the U.S. 97% are undiagnosed. How can you say that's rare?
Doctor: Fine. I'll look for symptoms and recommend people get tested. Happy now?
      *Doctor does nothing*

Those facts are true though. My mother, sister, and I all have celiac disease. I'm to lazy to expain it so if your curious go to www.celiac.com

I hate when people tell docters what to do. They are traind proffenals and know what they are doing.

note this is not directed towards Imachinchilla. I agree with her on that one.

Well I guess it depends. If the person knows more than the doctor... Doctors are incredibly ignorant about celiac disease. My mom was sick for ten years with classic symptoms going from doctor to doctor only to find out what was wrong on the internet. Celiac disease means you can't eat gluten which is in wheat, rye, barley, oats, and malt. She had mentioned to a lot of doctors that my sister was sensitive to wheat and they still didn't say anything about it. We all had blatant symptoms, but most doctors have this screwed up idea that it's rare if they know anything about it at all. It's not rare. (need I repeat the statistics? They are true) Sorry I had to go into explaining my life mode. It just bothers me when people aren't willing to learn from each other just because of something like age, status, or job. Doctors don't know everything.

      hahahaha...

this has always been my favorite scenario:

ignorant one: you're arabic right? can you speak to this guy for me?

      me: he's persian...

ignorant one: *stupid and confused look on his face*

me: he speaks farsi, not arabic.

ignorant one: oh, but he's middle eastern! -ding bat can't wrap his mind around the fact not all "middle eastern" people speak the same language.

i tend to have more of these kinds of problems (RE: cultural ingnorance/cluelessness) in the US. sometimes i think my people (americans) are just plain retarded. :)
it's kind of sad. i meet a lot of foriengers, and they are usually a lot more worldly and cultured than we are.

Same thing with Asians -- i.e. Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Laotian, etc. -- all the same to Westerners apparently...STILL.

      That's just sad.

My take on things, I'll be honest. If I don't know something, I really try hard not to blunder through something. If someone looks Asian to me, I'd rather not presume and be thought ignorant that open my mouth and get critisized for being wrong and judgemental.

Another pet peeve, people with horrendous handwriting who are over the age of 18. Please, people, you should have learned to write by the time you've graduated from high school!

Oh, and people who think all Americans are alike. I admit a lot of them are rather stupid (not just ignorant) but there are still a few good ones left. Oh, and East- Coasters are quite a bit different than West-Coasters and (for lack of a better word) Centeralites.

Mostly little things, depending on where ppl come from. Accents, rural vs surburbia, general mind-sets, what people of different areas believe are important (ie. industry vs. environment), political views, and stuff like that. Not to mention American immigrants. I know that all countries are like that, but from what I hear it seems to me like most ppl put all Americans in the same light.

West-Coasters have more superior intelligence, moral fiber, and sexual equipment. This doesn't prevent them from being modest and humble about it.

      My Pet Peeves:

      1. when people say "we/you/they was". LEARN THE WORD "WERE" YOU FUCKERS! (this is a southern thing btw). One of my college professors said it alot, and he was my academic advisor. So sad. That's east Texas for ya.

      2. when my mom is stupid in the kitchen. and when she tries to do hard things when she's drunk. really pisses me off.

a pet peeve of mine is ignorance. as some of you have pointed out. maybe the ignorance it takes to label all americans as ethnocentric assholes. it swings both ways my friends... the generalizations... the labels... this is hypocrisy at work and it funny to watch you squirm in it.

      clear eyes. strong hands.

      Mine are:

When people think they are good at something but they actually aren't.

When kids in music class are constantly making the same mistake she's told us a million times about.

Other stuff I can't think of.

Another peeve of mine is when people hate other people just for their taste...

Now, I may not agree with Novablas, but that doesn't mean I hate him as a person.

      In fact...

I admire your courage to bear your brand-loyal pride, Novablas! :bravo:

One of my bigger peeves is also the whole notion of 'race' -- THERE'S NO SUCH THING, IT'S BEEN BIOLOGICALLY PROVEN, OR DISPROVEN AS THE CASE MAY BE, SO JUST DROP IT.

Seriously, anyone who uses the term 'racist' is propagating that whole derogatory device just as much as the KKK.
