Diet can have a very big effect on mood and general well-being. People who eat healthier have more energy and are more easily motivated because of it, while people who eat greasy crappy foods are more likely to want to laze around. Don't tell me you've never had a greasy pizza, or greasy garlic fingers, and then didn't feel lazy and shitty afterwards? Nobody feels like going for a nice jog after scarfing down greasy nasty foods. However, if you eat a few apples, or some peanut butter and celery or the likes, you're much more likely to feel energized, light, and good to go.
Along with this, I don't think we should necessarily stereotype the youth of today.... Whoever said that they all just want to laze around playing video games and smoking weed is very wrong, and especially if you try to compare it to the past.... You think the kids of the 60's or 70's didn't want to sit around smoking weed, or drinking beer? That's something inherent to people in general, not any specific generation. Also, the fact is, is I don't see anything to back that initial statement anyway. I don't see kids as getting lazier. I know plenty of active people nowadays, and I know tons of people who go to the gym every other day and get buff. Sure, there are a lot of overweight and lazy kids, but there always were. Maybe it's more predominant in other parts of the world or something, but I know personally that the people around my area are generally highly motivated (whether academically or motivated in the real world sense) and look forward to doing something with the rest of their lives. Just about everyone I've talked has high hopes and a plan set out for their futures. Most of the people I know are so excited about university/college because they can't wait to get out in the world and put their plans into action to get where they're going. I think too often now we see a few sterling examples of lazy kids and unmotivated teens on TV and we assume that that represents an entire generation. It doesn't.
Personally, I'm actually very excited for university, and I can't wait until I get through it and can start pursuing my dreams wherever they lead me. I have so many plans for the future, who knows how many of them will actually work out, but I'm still very excited and very motivated to get started on them.
Cuz instead of calling me straight, she just went and texted and I had to open my phone and read "Call me", while I was driving, I was outrage. Teenagers today are fucking stupid.
No, teenagers are not fucking stupid, your sister is fucking stupid. Don't stereotype an entire generation on your sisters actions. As well as this, I could stereotype you as stupid for your poor English skills, but I don't assume that you are a complete idiot just because you aren't magnificent at English. That would be a dick move. Just because some people like to text, does not mean they are "fucking stupid".
I mean, there used to be a time when a majority of teens were at least capable of telling you where certain key countries could be located on a world map. But now technology has these little fucknuts so distracted that their intellect can only be considered marginal at best. You would think that it'd be pretty obvious - "Oh, maybe I'm failing all my classes because I'm texting and not paying any attention to my lectures." But no. They are truly and genuinely confused as to why they fail, going so far as to accuse their teachers of "hating" them.
That's because geography used to be taught more extensively, when it was considered more important. Now it doesn't matter, because you can look up a map on your phone, or your computer, or even in your car in some cases. Because I don't know the exact area of Kazakhstan on a map does not mean I'm an idiot. It means that I was never taught that specific thing. I know I always sucked at geography, and I also know that this is probably in part because we never focused on it in school whatsoever. I remember having geography in grade 9, and the only thing we really ever did with it was memorize the location of all the provinces in Canada. Does that make me a smarter person? Not at all. That information is easily obtainable any fucking where at all, and wasting my time memorizing the location and borders of each province in the end won't prove shit, and won't be worth shit. What's more important, and what should be being focused on in schools nowadays, is not necessarily the material, but the analysis of the material. Being an International Baccalaureate student, I've learned that just because you learn something in school does not mean it's right. It doesn't even mean it's important. IB taught me to analyze what I learn, every book you read, even straight from the IB or IB endorsed companies, you're encouraged to analyze them, find bias in them, dissect them under a microscope, and cross reference them with as many other documents as you can to try and come to the most complete and logical truth you can find. THAT is a skill that actually has some importance, that is something that can determine whether or not someone is an idiot, and that is much more important and rewarding than being able to point out Georgia on a map. That's something that you can take with you in life, that can actually serve some purpose.
Furthermore, who are these kids that are confused by why they're failing? Everyone I knew who failed knew why they failed. They would tell me straight out; "Yeah, I never paid attention in class," or "Yeah, I just didn't care, I didn't do the work, I did too many drugs, I didn't sleep enough..." etc. If someone claims to not know why they're failing, they're clearly claiming that as an excuse to make themselves seem like less of an idiot. And sometimes, teachers genuinely do hate their students. I've had teachers admit that to me before, that they mark with a bias. One teacher told me straight up, that how a person presents themselves will have a big effect on how they're marked. A person who gives off that "straight A" vibe will generally get straight A's, whether or not they deserve it. She told me that if a student who usually gets D's brought in a paper deserving of an A, they may get a C on it if they were lucky, because that's all part of the marking bias. The teacher already expects failure from the person, so they're going to be searching for the flaws. There are many other factors that also weigh in on a teachers marking as well, such as when the paper is marked, how many papers the teacher has already marked, etc. Believe it or not, if you ask an honest teacher, they will tell you that these things do have a big effect.
Moreover, I don't even really see how this is relevant. The girl in the video liked to text a lot, so what? I text a lot too. I counted one day and I had texted over 250 times in like a 12 hour span. It has nothing to do with my intelligence, and I don't see why I would need to be slapped.... What's the difference if she texts a couple hundred times a day, or if she's talking on the phone for a few hours a day? I don't really see the problem here.
