      cooking corner

ok so i really love to cook !!!

so this is just a thread to post recipes

      to start off ...

      fried rice....

      4 cups cooked rice
      1 onion
      1 cup peas
      1 red bell pepper
      some cilantro
      2 green onions
      1 celery stick
      1 egg
      soy sauce

and pretty much any cooked meat you want if you want it in.

chop up the onions, pepper, cilantro and celery and set aside

in a large frying pan or wok on high heat add vegitable or canola or peanut oil and the regurlar onions save the green for later

cook them till they turn translucent (this will not take long since you are on high heat)

then add peppers, peas, and celery and mix
add the rice and egg and lower heat to med-high
cook untill the egg is done then add some soy sauce about 3 tsp
mix together till all the rice is a light brown from soy sauce

      now eat

remember to keep stirring so you dont burn any thing

now what you got for me to cook!
you can't do that on the internet!.... wait yes you can do it again!

dash of this a dash of that and a pinch

      cool ideas docKnubis
      Sounds good.

I do not know what amounts. Sorry. When I cook shit, I just cook it. Depend on how many people. Sometimes I or "it" gets burned.

      Potato soup
      a. Use leftover water from boiling ribs to boil your potatoes.
      b. Cut up potatoes in 4 quarters and boil with an onion.
      c. Once softened smash potatoes.
      d. Add half & half creamer
      E. Add chives
      F. Last but not least add the cheese of your choice, let melt in with the soup and...

      serve.

I have many salmon recipes. We love eating salmon, around here, especially grilling it. I'll post my favorite recipe I got off Paula's Home Cooking on the Food Network.

Maple-Glazed Salmon with Pineapple Salsa Recipe

      4 (6-ounce) salmon fillets
      Marinade:
      1 tablespoon maple syrup
      1 tablespoon teriyaki sauce
      1 tablespoon pineapple juice
      1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
      1 clove garlic, mashed

Place salmon filets in a resealable plastic bag. Combine marinade ingredients in a non-reactive bowl or measuring cup. Pour marinade over filets and refrigerate from 1 to 24 hours.
In a grill basket sprayed with cooking spray, grill the salmon, skin side down, over hot coals. Flip after 2 to 3 minutes and cook for another 1 to 3 minutes, or until desired doneness. Serve with pineapple salsa spooned on the side.

      Pineapple Salsa:
1 medium size ripe tomato, chopped into small cubes
1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
2 pickled jalapeno pepper slices, deseeded and finely chopped
1/2 cup pineapple chucks, fresh or canned
      1 teaspoon salt
      1 tablespoon sugar
Place all ingredients in a small, non-reactive saucepan. Simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes. Cool. Refrigerate until ready to serve with the salmon.

      Salmon Rocks!!!

Thank you Misbijoux. Wow is my mouth watering.

An odd dish I made up.

Take raw potatoes (5 ) and slice them inot thin slices. Put into a frying pan with canola oil and begin to fry.

In a separate bowl mix 4 eggs and a 1/4 cup of milk and stir.

aside, cut up some onion, red peppers into small squires. As the potatoes begin to brown, toss in the onion peppers and some salt and garlic or garlic salt. ...Stir.

Last two steps you mix in the egg mixture and also add a variety of graded cheeses. I prefer cheddar and provolone. But what ever.

      eat.

No, I don't think I've ever made it blackened. I've made blackened chicken before, and my kids about died, lol. So, I haven't tried blackened salmon.

      I made this, today...
I modified it, a bit. I used fresh baby spinach. I sauteed it in a little olive oil with some garlic. I also grow my own tomatoes and make my own sauces and paste, but canned will do.

      Spinach and Ricotta Manicotti

1 pkg. (10oz) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
      1 (15oz) container Ricotta cheese
      1 Egg
      1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
      1 teaspoon Garlic salt
8 Manicotti shells, cooked and drained
1 can (14.5oz) Diced Tomatoes with Roasted Garlic
1 can (6oz) Tomato Paste with Italian Herbs
      1 teaspoon Basil leaves, crushed
      1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded

      Preparation
      1. Combine spinach, ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, and garlic salt. Spoon into cooked manicotti shells; place in 12x8 inch baking dish.

      2. Combine undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, basil plus 1 cup water. Pour over manicotti. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

      3. Bake uncovered in preheated 350 degree F oven, 30 minutes or until heated through.

      Stinky Sandwich:

Take some bread and put some sauce on it like mayo or ketchup make sure that you can heat it.

Put something meaty or fishy on it like tuna or salami.

      Add some onions on it.

Cover everything with a cheese slice.

Put it in the oven till the cheese melts and the bread is toasted.

Add something on top like some edible green plant an olive or tomato.

It might be stinky but it tastes good kinda like pizza.

      Potato Cream:

Cook several potatoes in boiling water with Dill plant until the are nice and soft.

      Remove the water.

Add a chunk of butter and mash the potatoes.

Add some milk like half a glass and mash it till it becomes all creamy.

Should be tasty looking cream with green spikes from the Dill plant.

I made some shit this morning. Tasted good. Lots of meat. Breakfast of CHAMPIONS.

      Basic. One pan.

-Minced meat. (I used veal) Differ quantities as to how many are eating.
-Bacon rashers. (I used no-rind, good quality) Again it's basically the meat I found in the fridge.
-Salsa[-ish]; Something slightly spicy to kick, with finely chopped fresh veggies. (I made my own with fresh chillies, tomato puree, wheaten cornflour and veggies - carrot, capsicum, jalepenos, parsley [ftlz])
-Coconut cream. (I know it sounds like a curry now - but I love how it brings it all together. [without the endless gas])
-Oyster sauce. (Asian grovery shop. I used mushroom-oyster.)
-Seasoning. (This kind of goes without saying.)
      -Paprika.

Cook the meat first. Start with the mince, then add the bacon relatively quickly. Turn bacon over but don't let crisp.

      Add your pre-made salsa.
      Don't add seasoning yet.
If you just did, you have failed. Also if you didn't FINELY chop the vegetables, you have failed. This is for the morning. Not the evening. (Hence the bacon...[I think])

Add a fair amount of coconut cream, not too much as to overpower, otherwise you won't be able to even eat it without serious seasoning.

Add the oyster sauce to taste and paprika, adjust with seasoning.

Simmer a bit, just don't burn anything.

Serve with anything that seems okay to eat in the morning. My personal diet consists of basically just rice, so I can handle it in the morning.

Mashed potato seems like it might work though.
      So that's it.

If it tastes like crap, you should take lessons.

Oh and an important note, remember to not over-do the salt content, as the bacon probably is shit quality and is salty as the sea.

      That is all.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

A friend gave me this recipe for ramen noodle coleslaw. I hear it's a pretty common recipe, but this variation is my favorite. It's a great side dish for cookouts and is one of the most delicious ways to eat vegetables.

      Ramen Noodle Salad
2 pkgs Oriental flavor instant ramen noodles
1 bag coleslaw mix (This is usually found next to produce in most supermarkets)
      2 Tbsp Soy sauce
      1/2 cup vegetable oil
      1/2 cup white vinegar
      1 Tbsp sugar

      1. Crunch up noodles into 1/4 inch pieces and toss with slaw mix.
      2. In sealable container, dissolve sugar in vinegar. Add oil and soy sauce and one seasoning packet included with noodles. Discard the other package. Shake well to mix.
      3. Pour dressing over noodle/slaw mix. If desired, add sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
198.726% of people will not realize that this percentage is impossible given what we are measuring. If you enjoy eating Monterey Jack cheese, put this in your sig and add 3^4i to the percentage listed.

      best low effort marinara:

      saute minced garlic
      add chopped onions and brown
drop small portion of tomato paste
      can of tomato sauce
      can of diced tomatoes
      dried italian herbs
      salt and pepper to taste

simmer for 20 minutes with any cooked meat you want.

best high effort girl impressing pork medallions:

get a pork tenderloin. trim all the silver fat and connective tissue. pepper the loin.

marinade over night with minced garlic, rosemary and olive oil.

do your best to get the rosemary off. salt the meat. sear on all side in a pan on high heat.put the pan in the oven at 375 and cook until 160-165 internal.

remove the meat from the pan and cover in foil.

now breakdown all the fat runoff in the pan with a little bit of cider vinegar. add dijon and apple cider. turn the pan on high heat and reduce the sauce way down. at least 3/4 of the original. turn off the heat and mix in butter to thicken it.

strain the sauce and serve with the medallions from the loin.
      clear eyes. strong hands.

Safe to Eat Raw Cookie Dough

      Simplest thing ever.

A lot of people are paranoid about eating raw eggs (which is kind of silly, I think, but whatevs), so this is without that.

      Ingredients
      - 1 cup brown sugar
      - 1 cup butter (personally I use half of this and it's just as good)
      - 1/3 cup milk
      - 1 teaspoon baking soda (this is optional but noticeably affects the taste)
      - 1 cup all-purpose flour
      - 1-2 cups wheat flour (I actually didn't have access to this, so I used just all-purpose flour and it was fine)
      - as many chocolate chips as needed

      Procedure
      1. Mix the brown sugar and butter completely together.
      2. Add the milk.
      3. Add the baking soda.
      4. Add the flour, one cup at a time.
      5. Add the chocolate chips.
      6. Chill in fridge. (Personally I think this too is optional. However, I find that the longer this stuff is in the fridge, the better it tastes. All the ingredients kind of have more time to mix or something.)
