Thread: Where can I get Sulphur Hexafluoride?

Before I continue, let me clarify:

Despite it's sinister sounding name, Sulphur Hexafluoride is non-toxic and (to my knowledge) perfectly legal.

It's a heavy gas, and I want to obtain it for it's unique properties.

Inhaling it has the opposite effect of breathing helium. It makes your voice sound much much deeper.



Not to mention, because it's so heavy, you can drop lightweight objects in a container of it, and the object will appear to float on thin air.

Now, it's potential seems limitless to one who adores good pranks oh-so-much like me (), but it has a rather hefty price tag. When I went around on some chemical websites to find it, it was over two-hundred American buckaroos.

So, I'm wondering if anyone knows where to find it, or how to make it without having to pay so much.
