Starting to Lose Determination... (Blue Vervain & Mugwort)

My attempts at inducing lucid dreaming, heck my attempts at DREAM RECALL, are starting to turn up ziltch on a semi-regular basis, and I'm really getting angry about it.

Initially, I was just going to bed determined and writing in a Dream Journal. I found these boards and started trying things like a Day Journal before bed and 100% Apple Juice at night. I would attempt the WBTB method (usually while getting up to use the bathroom and record one of my dreams from earlier in the night). I got an uncontrollable lucid dream (swirling black mass, but I knew it was a dream). Then there was the false awakening lucid dream, where I knew I was dreaming in a dream bed, but couldn't get my arse out from under the covers! Finally, a full blown, ultra-vivid, lucid dream with flight and everything -- and it occurred during my first, shortest REM cycle.

I'm trying everything (including, of course, what originally worked for me), and my dreams are slipping away. My recall when I wake up was never great, but it had been improving. Now, if I remember anything, they're a string of really muddy dreams that senselessly and weakly connect and are more feelings and thoughts than narratives of any kind. I've been sick for half of the first month I'm trying all this, which hasn't helped my sleep habits (lots of coughing), so I've gone on to herbs and such.

Tried WILD, literally was on the cusp of consciousness for 3 hours straight (which, in and of itself, was fascinating, and I never imagined I'd have the kind of patience required to lay still for that long, BUT...), I never achieve SP. Just a fuzzy hand or limb, and a few tremors that often screw up the process.

Last night I made a tea out of Blue Vervain (which I bought thinking it was calea herb), and I have mugwort extract drops for under the tongue. Each time I try one of these new techniques, aids, etc., I get an excited placebo boost, and then jack-squat. Last night's concoction brought nothing but a few, unvivid, unlucid dreams.

      I'm getting pretty frustrated here.

Have you tried Galantamine + Choline? Nothing worked for me (except for the odd random lucid) but GM works about 99% of the time.

I'll have to look it up. Galantamine's a little pricey, right? 10 pills for $20, $2 a pop, phew. That's the drug and Choline is a supplement? Thanks!

I got this from Amazon: Amazon.com: Galantamind (Galantamine), 90 Capsules: Health & Personal Care
      With shipping, it's about $0.55/pill.

Maybe you can find it cheaper elsewhere? It contains both GM and Choline.

Ah ha. That's a decent enough price. I already have a B-Complex with Choline already in it, hope I can still take that with it (don't wanna over do the Choline). Thanks for the alternate route

I didn't have much luck with B-complex. GM + Choline does the trick. Are you taking the B-Complex during WBTB? That's the key with GM.

Honestly, it's been scattershot -- and probably the reason I'm getting limited to no results after my initial success. I just got over a cold, so I was doing well with taking stuff and WBTB -- but got the cold back and Vitamin B12 says not to take with antibiotics, which I'm currently on, sooo.... Yeah.

Hopefully I can knock out this cold, and really kick it into over-drive with a supplement like the one you suggest.

Ok, just relax. I found the best thing for me was the move to a vegan diet - get rid of the processed foods that tie up the digestive system. The digestive system uses a hell of a lot of energy in processing the junk that most people typically eat. Comsume nothing but water for a couple of days - and then eat a plant based natural diet for a couple of weeks. You will find that you will have an increased clarity of thought and will also find that your ability to visualise will be enhanced. Buy a good quality liquid B vitamin and also Chia Seeds. The process is simple once the body can be freed from the cyclic dependency upon the overly fatty sugar laden processed foods.
