      Rem Dreamer TWC mode

I ordered some new batteries for my Rem Dreamer (see below) and dug the device out of the draw it has been hibernating in for two years.

I seem to be in a gadget mood lately and thought I would try out the TWC mode on the device with a Wake Back to Bed. I will explain TWC in a moment.

I used the device a few times a couple of years ago and found it very hard to go to sleep with. If I did manage to sleep I would wake up and immediately rip it off my head and fling it across my bedroom. Disgruntled I put it in a draw and it has stayed there since.

However, I have been playing with lots of gadgets lately. In fact I reballed a GPU chip on my friends laptop today using a mini blowtorch and the laptop that was going to go in the bin is working perfectly now. End of digression. I was reading the Rem Dreamer manual the other day and thought why don't I try it with a WBTB using TWC mode...

TWC is an acronym for Two Way Communication. TWC mode has two main attributes:

1: Firsty, when the mask detects that one is dreaming it gives flashes of light and also can give beeps if one would like beeps as well. The flashes and beeps grow in intensity. This way they won't be too bright or loud and ruin your budding lucid or wake you up. The incremental rise in LED brightness and piezo-electric buzzer volume will gently induce lucidity.

2: The next bit is really cool. Normally if the Rem Dreamer makes one realise that one is dreaming the LED's and buzzer will still continue to give flashes and beeps until it's cue cycle is over. I can see how this might ruin a lucid in its early few seconds. With TWC you just have to look up and down a few times in your lucid dream. Your physical eyes in bed will move up and down as well. The Rem Dreamer will detect that you are doing this and turn off the flashing LED's and the buzzer thus leaving one to crack on with stabilisation.

      Will try on Friday morning.

My train was late Thursday so couldn't do a WBTB on Friday. Will have to wait for another day.
