      Galantamine - Anyone with experience?

      Hi all,
I have been researching about supplements and it seems that galantamine is the "gateway" supplement to lucidity. All the sites I have researched about galantamine show that it is pretty expensive. I have a few questions about it:
      1) Where does everyone buy it from, and how much does it cost?
      2) Are there side effects to it?
      3) How much has it helped you guys with Lucid dreams and dream recall?

Feel free to share any other info about galantamine that you would like.

      Thanks

      2) Are there side effects to it? - Every thing has side effects. If you look in the sticky thread at the top of this section of the forum you will find a supplement list with known side-effects.

      3) How much has it helped you guys with Lucid dreams and dream recall? Many people report this working well for them, some do not. A simple search of the forum will reveal many posts regarding the effects.

Check the forum, you will be pleased you did. The search box is at the top right of this thread and every section of the forum.

You need to take Galantamine with chiloine. I did it last night for and haven't done it for a while (your head needs to be in the right place). It worked again. It was the briefest of LD's but it worked. When I said you need to be in the right frame of mind I say it because they haven't worked for me when I have had other stuff on my mind not because of bad experiences.

I got them from a site called dreamamins. Google it and it will take you to the right place. I take 2 capsules about 4 and a half hours into sleep. The only side affect I get is better memory. Your brain just runs better. This is another reason your head needs to be in the right place. I get panic attacks sometimes and you don't want that with this stuff.

Don't be put off it's safe as long as your not allergic to any of the herbs. The stuff in it is the same stuff they give to alschimerz patients but they have much bigger doses and every day.

      Hi.

Galantamine is my favorite supplement, which I am excited about nowadays.

      1) I bought it from dreamamins.com together with Choline. They call it Lucid Dreamer. 60 pills containing 4 mg Galantamine and 200 mg Choline cost 33 USD there. Galantamine is an expensive substance. It is worth of it IMO. However don't start with supplements if you haven't had any LD.

      2) Side effects:
Insomnia first few times I took it.
Stomach ache only once after eating junk food in the evening (irrelevant probably).

      3) It helps me great since I adjusted to it.

<Copy of my 2 weeks old post in a different thread>

About my experience with galantamine... I had problems with falling asleep. I used to stay awake for about 3 hours and then I was about to fall asleep. I heard the typical "hum" when I was starting to drift to sleep. It always distracted me. After it repeated many times, I was starting to get used to it and could stay in the state of mind needed to drift to sleep. Then the sound became louder and I "jumped" into intense HH suddenly. It happened to me many times. However I used to wake up after about half minute.

Last week I attempted LD with galantamine for the 5th time. I took B-complex forte in the morning and 100 mg 5-HTP before bed. I woke up naturally after 3 to 3.5 hours of sleep, before my alarm rang. I took 4 mg Galantamine with 200 mg Choline. I got HH very fast, within 40 minutes. I didn't finish WILD. Then I got HH again and I woke up again. Then I fell asleep normally. I had a great DILD. The acetylcholine level was at its peak I guess. I didn't have very good control, but the LD was great otherwise. It was about 15 minutes long, my longest LD so far. The whole dream had awesome atmosphere.

Some people need to take galantamine several times before they get used to its effects and are able to fall asleep with it. I had the problems. However, my last experience was awesome. I will take the supplement combo again tonight. I look forward to it very much.

I have taken G+C twice since this post. It worked in both cases. One night I had 2 DILDs. Second night I had a WILD.
      DILD: 123 ; WILD: 10 ; DEILD: 9

      Jay:

Galantamine definitely helps, but it is by no means a "gateway" to lucidity. Lucidity is a state of mind, not a result of chemistry... You still need to prepare your mind, to build your self-awareness and memory, for the Gallantamine to be any help at all.

Don't expect the Gallantamine to do the necessary mind work for you, because it won't. If anyone or any site tells you otherwise, they are lying, either to you or to themselves. Gallantamine is an excellent aid, not a magic potion.

Galantamine seems to be very illusive id really like to take it but there's no where that sells it unless you order which I don't like doing. why do you think that is? I'm currently using huperzine a instead you think that's a good replacement?

I think it's just not a popular enough product to make it to the shelves of your local vitamin store... also, since I think it's derived from a pretty rare herb, it's expensive and there just might not be enough of it to merchandise normally.

Not a good replacement. Though I've found that huperzine has it's own curious effects on dream vividness, I'm not sure it helps you stay focused and remember the way galantamine does.
