If a message cannot be perceived, it cannot affect you, period. The idea with subliminal messages is essentially suggestion. Suggestion can always be perceived, otherwise it wouldn't affect you. It's very likely placebo, and seeing how you are already sceptical of it's effectivity, it'll probably be a waste of time. |

If the subliminal signal is masked by some other sounds, then you could first filter those out using hi-pass filtering set at a high frequency (e.g. 16 kHz), and after this amplify the volume to reach the maximum level without "clipping". Lastly, you would then listen to the signal normally, which should reveal the high-frequency content. |
