      L-Tyrosin

      Hey!

Iv’e stumbled across this supplement only a handful times and I have some serious trouble finding proper information regarding L-Tyrosin and lucid dreaming.
Some people mean it enhances your vividness and so on, but iv’e found so little information about it. What is its role, and is it any similar to L-Theanin perhaps?

Is there anyone out there keen on fill in the gaps? 😎

I've looked around a bit, both online and on a couple of books I have.

As far as I can see, L-Tyrosin probably doesn't do much for most people, maybe part of why it's difficult to find anything about it? I was only able to really find anything about it online, nothing on the little literary reference I have of relevance; but it seems to be part of the metabolising chain that leads to noradrenaline, which may or may not have some effect on dream vividness...

At the moment, I can't see a direct relation between L-Tyrosin and L-Theanine, except that the first is a basic amino acid, and the second is an analogue of the L-Glutamate amino acid. Honestly I think it's difficult to assess the effect taking this type of supplement has. I have taken L-Theanine myself in the past and didn't really notice any difference over the entire period I was taking it; bearing in mind that different things work for different people.

I think you might have more luck with this type of question on one of the reddit subs for dreaming, or perhaps more importantly a chemistry/biochemistry sub. But from my experience, trying to get to that type of knowledge through people who do know about these complex chemicals is very long-winded and may just result in more questions than answers, in the end.
