I’m going to school to be a programmer ! I would love to make the ‘perfect’ lucid dreaming app just for fun! Or maybe this thread can give people with lucid dreaming apps some ideas..

What key features would you like in a lucid dreaming app?

Personally, I would rather see an app that aids in dream recall rather than a lucidity aid (if that's what you were going for). I say this because technology induced lucid dreaming is faulty at best, and it doesn't really help build the foundation for natural lucidity. Mostly, though, these things just have a very low rate of success.

An app that focuses on dream recall and reality checking hits/misses, though, would be great. Offer multiple modes of recording dreams (text and audio). Offer visual aids (graphs) to show progress and frequency of lucid dreams. Offer randomized reality check goals and a way to chart successes and progress.

^^ I concur. These are the features most useful to practicing dreamers: goals/results tracking/graphs. Export/Import to/from a standard format for all data is essential for enabling uses outside the app.

Also, night-time voice recording with absolutely minimal interaction: e.g., motion or tap anywhere to start/stop recording (with quiet audible confirmation of whether recording is on or off, like one beep recording, two beeps stopped), with pause/unpause for voice recording.

Having a very flexible set of DEILD alarms and triggers, though, can be a very useful feature. A highly configurable alarm (choosable sound, volume, duration, time) with a shake/move or tap-anywhere to snooze (not requiring the user to open eyes) with configurable snooze repeat for late morning short DEILDS can be useful for some.
