      Valerian Root

      I just bought some Valerian Root 450mg capsules.

      I got told you can take 2-3 capsules before bed and it will help you sleep and not impede dreaming.
      I got this because I wanted to get a good timing on my core sleep to wake for the 90 min REM cycle endings and also it said it helps dreaming on a vitamin site.

      Anyone have experiences with it and know when to take it and how much?

      The directions should be on the bottle. Also make sure that it is a brand which has been standardized for valeroic acid and not just some component made up by the manufacturer.

      Thanks. But I really wanted to know what people have experienced from it, if they took more or less, when they took it and what gave the best results.

      In the past I have taken Valarian Root to help me sleep and found that it did increase dream vividness, dream recall, and LDs. However, at that time I didn't know LDs were anything special, so I didn't think much of it (I'm a natural LDer). I don't take it anymore because I can no longer get the brand I was taking in town.

      With the valarian root I found that it seemed to loose its effectiveness if I took it every night for too long, so I would limit it to a few nights a week for best effect. Hope this helps!
