Thread: Can someone explain "Tell me the truth behind..."?

Okay, whenever i ask about something indreams, when a lot of people ask the meaning of things in dreams, I/they get pretty much thge same explanation, usually the same down to the sentence, sometimes the same word-for-word. And then nobody else says anything, as though there's nothing else anyone could say about, even when it's mentioned other places as a common symbol or occurence that could easily be referenced. WHy do you people put so much faith in that blasted technique, it does not work for some people. If it worked for me, I'd never ask questions about symbolism or anything in dreams. I'd just go to sleep, and ask to have all my questions answered.

Well, i want some answers. I request that people explain their success rate with this technique, and to explain how it's supposed to work if you are one of the people who doesn't be;lieve dreams are all your subconscious.

And please, if you see someone asking about symbolism, and it's something you know anything about whatsoever, please reference that, don't just copy and past the same stupid post in every such thread. Or at least try to make it look different when you repost it.

No (but thanks for replying), I'm asking about the technique for finding out what something in a dream means. Usually, you can get some pretty good replies on symbolism and stuff, but if even one person posts the same overused "tell me the truth behind _____" post, the thread just dies. It's as though all of you take it for granted that that mnemonic technique always works.
I was wondering about peoples' successrate with this technique, and if anyone ever gets answers that make a lot of sense when compared to other references on Dreamviews. Anyone? Does anyone else find this technique useless?

Sorry but im still a little confused on what your asking. You want to know what things that go on in a dream mean? or do you want to know about the mneumonic technique?

I'm a little confused, too. Are these two separate questions?
1) Dream symbolism and interpretation
2) Mnemonic techniques to induce lucid dreams (or incubate dream symbolism?)

Whenever I ask about dream symbolism and interpretation, somebody just says to use said mnemonic device instead of actually trying to help. Right now, I'm not asking for anything to be interpreted, I just want to know the success rate this questioning actually has, if people usually get a decent answer. Because it never works for me, and I'm sick of doing the same unsuccessful thing every time I can't get a straight answer on the forum.

I'm sorry if I'm not getting my point across very well, I just want to know if this actually works very often, or if people just repeat it because it's repeated so often.
