Well, i have recently replaced all the light switches in my house with automated ones (X10). I am able to program the lights to switch on or off at specific times, or after a certain time has passed (I'm terrible for leaving lights on). |

Your experience proves that it works. You have an automated signal that translates to your dream without waking you up, much like a NovaDreamer. |

It works provided you know your REM timings otherwise you'd have a hard time adjusting the brightness because you wouldn't know when you are in deep sleep or light sleep or even REM. Deep sleep, stages 3 and 4 are the hardest to be aware of anything unless you are using halogen spotlights directed at your face at full blast... |

I always have difficulty seeing in dreams, at best the images are blurry, like i'm without my glasses. Other times i see in black/white, very blurry again, and i have to feel my way around (its that blurry). On the night the lights occurred, i had a better than usual clarity. So yes, it did improve vividness/clarity. But that was just for one night. I did not LD though. |

So how's that light idea going? You can start with 90min intervals and one hour intervals after like 5am and you'd have to adjust brightness to the point you don't actually wake up but at the same time aware the light has gone off. |

I dont know if its just me or what, but i dont seem to see the lights anymore, and when i do, i wake up. I abandoned this idea a few days ago, as i am just a little too impatient. Maybe lucid dreaming is only for those who have time and dedication. I dont seem to have either of them. |

My light idea will work but problem is....I can't sleep with the timer on, it creates anxiety... |

Actually it isnt though. The NovaDreamer uses technology to detect when you're in REM sleep and then sends a cue, either flashing lights or audio (that isnt too bright or too loud to wake you up), that you can learn to recognize in your dream. |

You are right, BUT if you program the lights to come on later in the sleep cycle, say after 5 or 6 hours onwards, the length of REM periods is much longer than non-REM periods, so the chance of switching the light on during a REM period are very good. |

well i definitely agree about the Cheaper fact, but definitely not with the cooler notion up there. |
