      Binaural Beats Help

The other techniques are frustrating me too much at the moment. So I've looked up binaural beats and such things, and am just curious. I have always been pretty moved by music and I think it might help me.

Anyways, I just wanna know if anyone can recommend a free mp3 download? It doesn't necessarily have to be binaural beats I guess, just anything that will help with inducing lucid dreams/astral projections/OBEs (and by the way, I don't care which one it induces, since they're pretty much all the same to me).

Also, what is this "stereo" thing people speak of? I mean, I know what it is, I've read about how it makes the binaural beats work, but how do I make my headphones "stereo"? Is there a setting or something? I've looked on my mp3 player and there's nothing suggesting a stereo setting except for one that is "SRS", I'm not sure what it is though.

Thanks a bunch for any help!

I can't help not believing that stuff like this works. I wish to see some scientific evidence if there's any or something scientific to back it up.

There's scientific evidence that binaural beats entrain your brain to primarily function within specific wavelengths. I don't know if there is any evidence that links it to attaining lucidity though.

So the binaural beats make your brain adapt to them?

here, I'll drown you in scientific evidence

      http://web-us.com/thescience.htm

"Uses of audio with embedded binaural beats that are mixed with music or various pink or background sound are diverse. They range from...and out-of-body experience and lucid dreaming."

prety long, but an interesting read.

yea, I just sort of found it when I was looking for info on binaural beats...I'm glad I read that first because It allowed me to approach the subject with a much better knowledge of how it works.

Anyone have any free downloads though? I'm gonna try really's induction mp3, I'll see how it works out. Also, any answers to the "stereo" mystery would help please and thanks!

typically all mp3 players and headphones play in stereo by default. Really the only thing that determines it is weather or not the audio file is in stereo. However, you can be 100% sure with binaural beats alone. If you listen to one ear at a time, it should be a straight tone, but with both you will hear a third, it's hard to describe but you will know if you're hearing it or not, sounds almost like a slow vibrato in the tone.

      Smile Stereo - Quick Debrief

All stereo is, is a way for one ear to hear one thing while the other ear hears something completely different. Your ears determine whether something is in front of you by how clear it sounds and behind you by how muffled it is. This is called tone. Then by making something louder on one side, and slightly muffled, they can make something sound like it is behind you to your left and so on. In binaural beats instance, they give you, say a tone at 500 Hz in the right ear and 507.5 Hz in the other ear, creating an offset of 7.5 Hz, Low alpha, high delta. I've been trying it, but my head phones get to uncomfy and so I take them off. Right now, I am listening to subliminal music and about to take a nap to see how well it works. My night pills for BP and anxiety make me really drowsy so it will be to my benefit anyway and I forgot to take them last night (too caught up in this lucid dreaming).

I don't think the binaural beats work to well for me because I'm a nerd and I have to think about how everything works, hehe, so I can't stop thinking.

Ah, I can hear the difference in the headphones easily (I have a pretty good ear).

I tried it a few nights ago after waking up at about 3 am, but couldn't get my stupid mp3 player to go on repeat Gonna hafta figure out how to make it repeat... It got me pretty far into a trance. I listened to it 3 times but I had to manually make it play again, so I didn't fall asleep. I probably could've WILDed but the itchy irritations were really getting to me. I turned it off after since it would be useless if it didn't repeat. I didn't sleep the rest of the night, despite being heavily relaxed. It also kinda gave me a headache, probably because I "woke up" after it. I've been on vacation the last few days, but I'll try it again tonight or sometime soon.
