      Pommegranates & Banana & Honey & Yogurt

2 Nights ago I was hungry and decided to eat something before bedtime.
I had been suffering Insomnia the entire winter and going to bed around 3 o clock was " early" for me.

I prepared a pommegranate, cut up 1 banana, added some honey and yogurt and ate it. (believe you me; this is sooooo delicious)

I went to sleep right after and had AMAZINGLY vivid and well remembered dreams. This is noteworthy since my Dreamrecall has been pretty terrible for over 3 years now.

Now it could've been chance, but it was really amazing how vivid and clear my dreams were that night compaired to many years of little to no dreamrecall.
I'm going to try finding out wether it was the pomme granate, the banana, the yogurt or the honey by trying them seperately before bedtime.

Anyone down to join me in this experiment?
      Requirements:
Yogurt, Honey, Pomme Granate & Banana.

      Let me know the results.

SKA I think it was the banana...I make a point to eat bananas before bed sometimes because they really DO give you great recall and amazing dreams. I can't remember what it is in the banana that causes this but I know you can find the info somewhere on the site. Also, I'm not suggesting that pomm, honey, & yogurt have no effect on dreams...only that bananas are well known for this sort of thing. Congrats on the great recall though! Btw have you tried taking Melatonin or Valerian Root for your insomnia?

I ate bananas before bedtime before, but never quite noticed such improved dreamrecall.

Perhaps it is the particulair combination of bananas & pommegranates

      PS:
I've tried melatonin. Not valerian root however(well I have in some tea mixtures at times)
I've tried sooooo many sleep medications, but only the strongest of the strongest will work. And I resent how they put me into a coma and make me nauseous and fuck'd the entire next day.
Even then, those rediculously strong sleep meds don't allways help. It's like whatever keeps me awake is far more powerfull than these extremely powerfull drugs I am prescribed to get to sleep.

Ooh I had ambien too for a while. It's more like a deliriant than a sleep aid to me o_Õ I'm not scared of many drugs, but I'm defenitely a bit scared of Ambien o_Õ

Nowadays I have Midazolam as a sleep aid; a pre anestheatic with rediculous power.

Still I prefer a big fat hash or cannabliss joint as a sleep aid. Never let me down and no nasty side effects.

Í think I'm going to get some Pommegranates on the market place on thursday to experiment with Pommegranates alone. See what they do as lucid aid.

Hey you know what this reminds me of?

Are you familiar with this painting...
Spoiler for Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening:

I never bothered to question why Dali painted pomegranates...makes me wonder though.

Yeah it made me think of that painting too. Dalí is a master psychonaught. Was very fond of Salvia and hash. Did experiments with lucid dreaming.
This painting is about a pommegranate and dreaming. Perhaps a hint of salvador dalí towards pommegranates oneirogenic effects. And the "bee" in the title refers to dream incubation. Or maybe honey.

I believe Dalí wrote a book or guide of some sorts that explained where he got his inspiration from: It explains certain hallucinogenic plant experiences as well as many lucid dreaming practices. All very personal ways to inspiration.

      Oj I found it:

I agree with Aquanina, I think it was the banana, pomegranates don't have much in them that assist your lucid dreaming. The honey might have helped you fall asleep though. Not sure what's in yogurt.

Both Pomegranates and Bananas are very high in potassium, bananas and yogurt have a decent amount of magnesium, and of course yogurt is high in calcium. All of these things help you sleep better, and magnesium gives vivid dreams, though I am not sure it will help you become lucid. By this combination, you more than doubled the amount of magnesium and potassium you would get from bananas alone.
