First lucid dream! \:D/

hi all,

well i'm immensely pleased to announce that after many years of thinking about, researching, and somewhat casually attempting, i finally succeeded in having my first LD last night! i'll try to keep my summary brief;

i have been keeping a dream journal for many years on and off, and it has always been quite clear that for me context is everything. i thought this was a particularly challenging dream sign, but perhaps not in practice: last night i went to sleep at about midnight, and woke up perhaps only a couple of hours later needing to go to the toilet. having gone back to bed i must've fallen asleep instantly and was sooner into quite a long dream, at the tail end of which i found myself back at my old family home. for some reason i was sure it was 1983 (i'm 29) and there were obviously people in the house.

already at this point there seemed to be something particularly real about the dream and i suppose i was starting to engage with the context clue. next, for some reason, there was a mirror outside the house; i checked my appearance and i was a (much younger version of) my mother! needless to say i must have been catching on at this point. for some reason i went to drop off some items in the garden, and just at the point i wanted to go into the house the penny finally dropped; i'm dreaming! i started floating upwards, even though i really wanted to go into the house, and next thing i knew i was awake

so i'm immensely pleased of myself! not less because i can't say i've worked particularly hard at this although it has been at the back of my mind for quite a few years now. very brief experience, but i'm hoping i can make some progress to the next stage now

Good work man, Its a damn pleasing feeling to finally break through, I had my first yesterday and am awake now just about to try the wbtb again, amazing feeling!
Keep it up, now you have a taste, no looking back!
