      Weird false-awakenings

      Hi ,

I have experienced lucid dreaming many times in the past (accidentaly), and I have recently trying to induce them intentionnally by waking up after 6 hours of sleep and going back to sleep after like an hour. I have experienced some succes, but I'm struggling on a few points.

First, I'm having trouble controlling my dream, although I know it's only created by my mind I feel like I can't control it at all. I'll try to fly and just fall back on the floor etc..

Second, I'm having false-awakenings. I wouldn't talk about it if it was like 1 or 2 in a row. But we're talking about many of them in a row. This morning, I believe I had 11-12 (definitely more than 10).

The way those happened is I reality checked everytime I woke up, and always found something to be weird, so I basically always threw myself out the window in order to try to fly etc.. but my vision always blurred and I just reappeared in my bed again and again..

Has anyone any suggestion or similar experiences?

      Thank you.

Flying can be a pretty difficult obstacle for some people to overcome. Maybe you're just not quite lucid enough to really believe you're in a dream, and anything is possible. That can happen sometimes; you might be extremely conscious in one lucid dream, but barely conscious in another. Myself, when I used to fly just by flapping my arms, I'd sink down slowly once I got to a certain height. I created an explanation as to how I'd be able to fly. Now, I use machinery to fly - more specifically, the Iron Man suit. It's simple to fly using it; I just imagine I'm wearing it from the get-go, and take off.

And wow, that's a whole lot of false awakenings! Maybe you just have to stabilize before trying to do something in the dream; false awakenings can vary in terms of how stable they are. Touch objects, look around, etc.

      Hope that helps.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Yeah I have also had FA's in a row. My technique is very similar to yours the difference is I have found my REM period and I wake up multiple times during it to induce a FA or a DILD.
