My Experience Last Night

I've been interested and reading LD material for a couple of years. Once before I had a very brief experience, but last night I experienced my first full blown lucid dream. Often before going to sleep I will look at my index finger in the "one" position, knowing that will be my personal cue to wake up inside my dream and verify that I am indeed dreaming. I should also say that I am a nightly dreamer, and I almost always remember detail. I can remember details of dreams and feelings from my childhood (I'm 48). Last night I found myself in a dream, among some friends (unknown) in a room. All of a sudden I got this surge deep within and said to myself..."I'm dreaming." I held up my index finger and it began to morph and melt, yet I knew it was my signal...and I got very excited. I started running to my friends and saying...check it out...this is a dream...look at this. I'd show them my finger and they would comment and cheer me on. I remember telling them also ....you're supposed to look at a clock and if it's all messed up it's a sign. I looked all over the room and couldn't find a clock, and finally one of my friends held up a wristwatch and said ...hey look at this! I did and couldn't tell what time it was because the hands kept distorting...and I knew I was "inside." My friends (whoever they were) all laughed and were "high fiving" me...congratulating me on figuring this thing out. It went on for a time. I remember feeling so free, so light, so unafraid. I was joined by a beautiful woman I know from the past...I remember wanting to fly and try some other things but mainly I just wanted to enjoy the dream-to stop and realize that this is great-I'm in my own imagination here...this is at the core of my being and suddenly I'm not afraid or tense or just a victim of whatever my fears are. wow...this is what I've been trying to do for at least two years. Just had to tell someone. I'll enjoy reading other experiences here. Mark
