      Writing/Signs as a trigger

So I've been trying to use the fact that I seem to have many instances where I am trying to go to the bathroom and people keep invading my privacy as a LD trigger. However I have noticed lately that I will become lucid as soon as I see writing. Every time I find myself thinking. I need to try and read this, It's probably important. But evertime I try, although I do attain lucidity, I get a headache and angry because I can't read it.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? Will I ever be able to read in my dreams?

      I hear you.

A couple of weeks ago I had a regular dream in which I was with this DC and I read one sentence of this document to him. He asked that I read it again.. and in attempting to do so, found that what I had read seconds earlier, was no longer the same and as I kept trying, the letters and words no longer started making any sense and were greatly distorting themselves. I remember tossing the document aside and telling the DC something like, "well that's what it said", ofcourse referring to the document.

Fortunately, on wake up, I remembered this incident clearly and was completely disappointed at myself for not recognizing this trigger-sign in my dream, that is so well known amongst LDers.

Reading text in a dream, if not the most popular, certainly ranks way up there as one of the premier triggering signs within the dream. I failed to pick up on it and and therefore, zeroed out on Lucidity.

The reason that it's so popular as a trigger, is b'cos as you read text in a dream, it consistently changes or distorts itself to the point that it makes no sense at all and therefore, makes it extremely difficult to read. This doesn't happen in the real world.

So if you can pick that up in the dream- it should trigger you into the awesome world of Lucidity.

If you constantly see text in a dream and have the opportunity to read it- you are one of the lucky persons, because before you, you have one of the most reliable triggers around. The key, however, will be on recognizing it as a trigger and not as I did, by failing to do so.

      Sweet Dreaming.
