      Dreaming of being lucid?

I had my first LD in about 9 months, my last was in an office for about 3 seconds. I was in my room, but there was a sheet over my bed (like a childs fort) and there was (i think) a couch infront of my tv. I realised something wasn't right but I wasn't sure. Then I looked at the phone and I realised the crack in it was in the wrong place and I realised I was dreaming. So, I tried to put my thumb through my hand and it didn't work but it felt kind of rubbery and kind of pushed through.

So, i looked around and it was kind of blurry so i said clarity and rubbed my hands together but it kept getting worse until it all became black and i think i woke up for a second, then fall back asleep and i don't remember the rest of the night.

My problem is that even though, i was doing things i would do if i was lucid, i remember me tihnking why i did the actions and how they should work but i was only kind of aware that i was dreaming. it kind of feels like I was just dreaming about being lucid. But im not sure if that's because it was blurry and short and probably semi-lucid or I dont have a good enough dream recall yet.

Can someone tell me why this is or what I can do to fix it? any info would be appreciated.

Im suprised no one else has replied

I sometimes have this same feeling iits pretty bizzare dreaming about lucid dreaming but i think it is possible because I occasionally have "lucid dreams" where I do things that seem kinda scripted? i guess like i wasnt fully in control. It does really suck but when you think about if your dreaming your lucid...you know your dreaming? So you should be able to have a full lucid who knows :\

      Hey there Brock,
If you realised you were dreaming, then that was a lucid dream already, hands down. Like you said, you mindset might have been a little different due to the clarity of the dream. However, if it WAS just a dream about being lucid, don't worry about it. Majority of people who do dream about being lucid are very close to a breakthrough of lucid dreams - It just shows that lucid dreaming had been on your mind a lot for the past day or so.
Some tips for improving quality: Like you done in your lucid, you can use some voice commands. You can also rub your hands together while looking at them. Seeing as you are trying to stabilise the dream, you must ground down your 'dream senses.' If you're rubbing your hands together while looking at them, that's two already! To be honest, i'm not sure if it comes into 'dream control' but you should also have confidence that what you do will work.
      Good luck~

This topic is interesting to me, I had something similar happen in a dream I had last night. I was not really lucid, but I was dreaming about being lucid. I was aware that I was having a dream which included two people who I know are dead, and they seemed younger than when they died. I was aware that it was a dream and I was upset that I couldn't tell them about what was going to happen to them (they both died of heart problems). In the dream, I was talking to my husband about this. So I was commentating on what I realized was a dream, during the dream. There was also an element that this was not the first time for this dream, it was kind of like it was both a past dream and also a real-time dream. I also had a conversation with the widow of one of the dead men, who said she could tell from my face that I was carrying a lot of guilt. I said "you'd be really surprised why". I didn't want to talk to her about it where we were (there were a lot of other people around) but I knew the reason was that I couldn't tell her husband about how he was going to die. So there was this element that I had gone back in time, but was also in the present. Very weird. It does seem like "dreaming about having a lucid dream", because I didn't have control of the situation and was viewing and participating in it on different levels. It felt very much like a dream within a dream.
