Woah- second lucid dream... the night after the first one

I posted a description of my first EVER lucid dream (DILD) on the forums yesterday.
I'd only been trying for six days, so even though it was short, i still felt very lucky. Well now i'm even luckier, i had a proper lucid last night! It started as a normal dream where i was exploring this odd half underwater cove. I didn't need any prompts this time, i just realised it was strange and looked down at my hand. 6 fingers instead of seven thsi time! then i did the breathing thing and it worked. As soon as i turned lucid i seemed to move to the place i was last time, then it felt unstable so i tried spinning on the spot a bit and it really worked! I stood in the garden for a bit trying cool dream stuff like flying, conjuring items and teleporting but none of it worked. A bus pulled up at the gate so i got on it and it took me to the village where my friend lives, i had banter with the driver, it was really funny. My freind picked me up from the station and i told her i'd got something pretty cool to show her, so when we got to her house i sat her down and told her she was in a dream. she didn't beleive me at first, but i have told her about all this stuff in real life, so i showed her a reality check and she was like 'cool, we need to do something fun then!' so anyway i won't explain the whole dream but it was cool and i wanted some chocolate so i just kind of expected there to be chocolate in the cupboard and there was. and later we were in danger so i ran away and i knew i needed to teleport so i expected this dream studio to be waiting outside and it was, and i constructed the place i wanted to go and it teleported me there.

I think for me personally, the secret to being able to do things in my dreams is really expecting that they will happen, and they do. it was actually in the early morning (same as last time) after a failed attempt to WILD (after getting so motivated yesterday!) so when i failed the WILD i thought that was it for the night. i'm sorry, i won't make a thread about every single one, i was just so excited that it happened so soon. i won't get my hopes up and think that this is going to be a nightly occurance though, i'll just carry on with what i'm doing, as it seems to be working ok.

hope you guys are equally satisfied with your dreams last night =D

Lucky you! It gives me hope, only had the 1 so far!

What do you do during the day, such as reality checks etc? I'm hoping my second will come soon...

It sounded pretty long too! How did it compare with your first? Was it easier?

      Ooh, their breath is warm
      And they smell like sleep
And they say they take me home
      Like poppies heavy with seed
They take me deeper and deeper

Yeah it was easier i could keep my head better because i knew what to expect, so i remembered to stabilize myself. It was much better as a dream because i managed to get things to happen in it rather than waking up straight away. During the day I reality check if something odd happens, or just generally when i remember too.I really focus on the reality check and remind myself what it means rather than letting it become automatic. After a RC i imagine what it would be like if i had found out i was in a dream, what would happen next and how it would feel. I find it helpful to really look for things that are out of the ordinary. I try to be just generally aware of my surroundings. I just stop every so often and let myself really see and feel everything around me and imagine that dreamlike state. Also, everytime i see both my upturned palms i repeat my mantras to myself and visualise the things i desire coming true as i say it along to a rhythm, eg 'I reality check in dreams, and acheive lucidity' and i do that as i'm falling to sleep too. I'm no expert and that's just what suits me, i think everyone needs to find something that works for them I find this kind of reality questioning has actually improved my general day to day life too. I feel more blessed to be alive.

Random question... do you like the strokes? or is your username just a coincidence?

The username is a coincidence, however the Strokes are ok! 'Last night' being the song that pops into my head

Thanks for your reply, it seems I'm doing similar things to you during the day, except the mantras. I might start trying this as I fall asleep. I appreciate your help! Let me know how it goes and if you get another

Good job man. You're better at realizing when you're dreaming than I am. I got attacked by a dinosaur last night and didn't realize it. I posted about it in my dream journal, crazy-ass dream.
You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one...
