What was going on in this dream?

Link to my DJ, because it's already there, no point to copy and paste. But to summarize, my dream involved possibly vibrations, dream switching, lacking amount of reality checks, layer 0 from the 5 layers of lucid dreaming, and proooooobably others, like maybe false awakening, or meeting my dream guide.

If you'd like go ahead and skip to the part where I say it's getting weird.

I just want some speculation on what you guys thing was going on.

Hmm for me, it seemed like you had hypnopompic hallucinations. Not sure if you know what it is, but basically it's the opposite of hypnagogic hallucinations. Hypnagogic hallucinations are hallucinations we see as we are falling asleep, while hypnopompic hallucinations are those which we see as we are starting to wake up.

Take note that 'hallucination' can be perceived by different senses – it may be visual, auditory, tactile, etc. I think that you may have had some auditory ones. Like you said in your DJ, you started to wake up, kept your eyes closed and tried to fall back to sleep. That could've been what caused the hallucinations – your slight wakefulness. Also, just wondering, are you absolutely sure you rolled over? Because that might have been part of the hallucinations as well, perhaps you were indeed in sleep paralysis but felt like you rolled over when you didn't. Just curious.

      Interesting experience though!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Thanks, that helps clear up a lot. And you were absolutely right, I've never heard of hypnopompic hallucinations. :p

And as for the sleep paralysis, I have no idea whether or not I was, because I've never felt legitimate waking sleep paralysis, unfortunately, nor been able to confirm if I know what vibrations actually sound and feel like. But that is just gonna require some wbtb which I am gonna start doing in the next few weeks, I believe.

Ahhh alrighty then! Good luck on your attempts, and let us know when you experience some more interesting stuff!

Oh and as for the sleep paralysis, people commonly experience a weird tingling sensation in their limbs, sometimes a heaviness on their chest, partial or full inability to move, among other things. But it varies for everyone though, so you may experience something entirely different.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
