longtime lucid dreamer... mind boggling lucid dream

Ok so I have been having lucid dreams for at least 8 years. Normally the dream starts off fuzzy and muffled, like I'm moving through molasses. Then as I realize I'm dreaming the picture in front of me pops into view.

So anyways I had this dream about my father who had just passed away last year. It started out blurry and out of focus our discussion sounded short simple and boxed, I don't actually remember what was said during the dream, until I think to myself, wait my dad has passed away he shouldn't be here so this means I'm dreaming. All a sudden my fathers stature and features come into view and I quickly realized this man looked like my father but isnt. My "dads" face had a twisted malevolent smile, and dark black pools for eyes. I looked at him he looked right back, and I finally opened my mouth and said "your not my dad." It was like SOMETHING wore my dad in order to gain my trust but then showed his true intentions by giving me this gut wrenching, goosebump, horror filled look. My "dad" slowly stepped closer, it was almost a demonic feeling. my heart was ramming in my chest, a cold sweat breaking across my forehead, with a dose of fear. I was so petrified that while in my dream, I told myself its only a dream wake up. At that moment my eyes shot open my heart beating rapidly, a cold sweat broke out all over me and then the full body paralysis hit me as soon as I tried to move. It felt like my arms and legs were being held down, and to top it off I was in and out of the dream. So as I'm trying to get some sort of movement going I hear the slightest whisper of my nickname in the voice of my fathers, thats when I snapped out of my full body paralysis and fully woke up.

I would say I have sleep paralysis at least on average 2 times a month along with hearing things or even seeing a hooded figure at the end of my bed, that it looks too real but I feel like I'm dreaming. But... Yea I have never had a dream of my father in this manor normally its us talking or like when I was a kid dreaming of him passing away in his sleep on more than one occasion (which is how my father passed). My dad was a religious man read his bible everymorning, and Me and him had the best relationship ever so him being evil in my dream makes no sense can someone shed a little light on this for me?

      My condolences..

I'm assuming this only happened once so far? I would suggest not to be distraught over it. Occasionally, we dream about things that are absolutely opposite with the reality. As far as dream interpretation goes, I think only you can really know what it represents. It may be just a random play of events generated by your mind. In any case, I hope it doesn't happen again, and if it does, I hope you can control the dream and turn it into something more pleasant.

      Good luck

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

I think you should try not to think about the demon incident for now. I would suggest just focusing on the fact that your father is in a peaceful and happy place. In my opinion, it might be better if you don't try to look for a deeper meaning on the demon thing, because even the slightest thought about that could trigger your subconscious to produce more similar demonic dreams – something we don't want to happen.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

I don't mind disturbing dreams. They are usually better then any horror flick we see. It's all good. Even the sad or scary ones. When my son passed away I had recurring dreams of him that he was alive and realized I was dreaming and reminded everyone in my dream this is just a dream it's not real. The chilling thing about that was even knowing it was a dream, it felt so real I did not want to wake up and looked forward to the recurring dreams. They eventually stopped. I believe the more we try the better we get in controlling our dreams. I read some where of person dreaming a cartoon. Now I had no interest of dreaming a cartoon but wanted to see if I could. I tried and tried and after a week I had a cartoon dream in full color. I've had lucid zombie dreams, lucid sexual dreams. It's all good

I will and thanks I try not to think about those dreams at all and mainly because I'm a scardy cat for anything malevolent. Thanks for the advice, and October yea I don't mind my lucid dreams mainly cus I have had them since I was a kid so I'm used to them but when they get scary I panic but am working on solving this by talking about it more, research, and understanding them better. Some of my scary dreams though are so fun filled and full of action which are the ones I don't mind just as long as its not evil thanks October for lightening up the mood

I hated when stuff like this would happen to me.Waking up scared isn't a good feeling.
I remember when I had a dream where I was exploring an abandoned house and these 2 guys came out of nowhere with knives, they were going towards me but I woke up out of fear. Nowadays though I never get stuff like that, lately the dream state has been very unusually comfortable.
