      First lucid (disappointed)

Still not sure if it was a lucid.

How it happened, I haven't done any recalls, just nose check every time I wake up in middle of the night.

I took a nap and was a bad day so I woke up like 2-3 times but went back to the nap again, I wasn't really that tired but of the mood I could sleep. When my mom entered my room she woke me up, but I didn't want to move so I just like acted sleeping. Then I started half dreaming, I knew instantly this was a dream (I don't call this the lucid dream it's the dream you are aware like you can think, oh I'm sleeping now, I have a test tomorrow, not the one dream you can barely remember in the morning) so I was like let's try the nose check to aware me. When I did this it was crazy, I got enlightened and I could feel me get thrown in a 2nd dimension or something, I was just flying controllably and hearing someone call my name in the back. I were like wtf do I do and I got carried away and woke up. Guess I got too aware.

Why I don't think this is a lucid is because I couldn't even see myself and it was like pixel white moons where I was controlled how I should fly in the dream. I couldn't control the moving myself. But it was so clear I remember it now, so I'm not sure.

I always thought when you enter lucid dream it is fresh and a big world you just decide yourself. This was some kind of white game moon, but I was pretty aware when I think about it.

Disappointed I couldn't be there longer, now it makes me want to keep a dream journal, and I wrote some shit in my phone and will keep doing rc's more now.

First off, congrats with your first experience.

Some dreams are just more blurry and less vidid than others and you don't always exercise full control over the dream world. Especially early on in your first experiences, it's quite common to wake up quite quickly, but once you get used to it, you'll find you will be able to have prolonged experiences

Thank you, I was just flying upwards without the control, it was really fun experience.

Will this make me get lucid easier? Because the feel of getting lucid was pretty strong, I think this will help but not sure.

      Hey overdose,
This still classifies as a lucid dream because you mentioned you were aware, the trouble is that you were in a trans-sleep stage so this wasn't the best way of experiencing your first lucid dream. Secondly you said that your awareness is what caused you to wake up, well I'm afraid that couldn't be further from the truth awareness is the whole bases of what a lucid dream is so the more aware the better. I think you are a beginner so I will give you a tip, in a lucid dream if you want something all you have to do is shout what you want and it will come like increase vividness and it will happen if you believe it will happen . Anyway congrats you should be proud even if your first lucid dream wasn't how you pictured it with time and practice you will get much more better and you will start having lucid dreams just how you pictured them. Good luck and have a amazing lucid adventure

For me, after having my first lucid experience I went a while, probably a little more than a week, before I had my next lucid experience. After that, I went a bit more than a week again before going on to have 4 lucids in two nights. I think having the feeling of being lucid could help you, since you now "know" how to recreate the feeling in your mind - if you get what I mean?

Yes it was no doubt a lucid. Like kruse had said there are many different levels of lucid dreaming and you just had a hard to control unclear one (very common for a first). Good luck and remember no matter how frustrating it gets don;t give up because it takes practice!

I felt exactly the same when I had my first lucid. I expected it to be vivid instead it was me with blurry vision running around a school. These lucid dreams are layer 3. The ones that are perfect and everything are layer 4. I have yet to get a layer 4. But if you keep working at it you can get there, I hopefully will get one soon too.
