Stuffy nose woke me up (4th lucid, materialized a handkerchief)

Again a bit of frustration, with this 4th lucid dream (2 weeks after the first one, 1 week after the third), but also some satifaction.

I am in my house, but the rooms and corridors are much bigger and there are some new ones. So, after doing boring ordinary things during some time (how can I not immediately realize I'm dreaming, and waste all that precious dream time ? argl...), I finally realize it's a dream. No need to do a RC, it is so clear once I ask myself the question.

Then, good point, this time my first reaction is to try to stabilize the dream. And it really seems to work, by rubbing hands and spinning quickly. I have the time to notice a difference, the dream does'nt immediately vanish, and I am about to go to another room to see if something/someone appears in the next room, now that I am lucid.

But, then, I notice I have difficulty breathing because of my stuffy nose. That's off course happening in my real body. Perhaps the excitation of being lucid, although not sufficient to wake me up immeditaley this time, makes me need to breath more air. Anyway, I have the idea to materialize a handkerchief, and it works, though the object is not very clear and real-looking. I use it and I wake up, off course. It was probably stupid, since the problem was with my real body, and I was focusing my attention on it, by doing so. But it was really hard to breath, and I was probably going to wake up anyway. So I'm proud I succeeded in materializing something, that's my first act of control on one of my dreams. But, again, the lucidity only lasted 5 to 10 seconds.

Slowly progressing, I need to tell me this and to write it somewhere.

I disagree with you. You WERE NOT going to wake up anyway. It has happened many times to me. when I go into a lucid dream I have trouble breathing. What to do in such cases is to try to focus on the dream and ignore the breathing problem. I know that it is difficult but is is the only way you could continue with your dream.

You're probably right, although I think it's hard to be sure whether I was going to wake up or not, whatever I would have done in my dream. But what is sure is that by focusing on the problem I was going to wake up. So, next time, like you said, I'll try to ignore the problem, because that's the only thing to do.
