      A Personal Victory

I have had my 2nd. lucid dream in a month after an extremely long dry spell. I knew when I read the lucid tasks this month I would have a problem because falling through ice and being trapped underneath has always been a terrible fear of mine. Consequently every time I would read the task of the month to find a lake and freeze it all I could think about was being trapped and having a nightmare.

Last night I was having a dream and I was trying not to slide over a bank into shark infested waters. Of course I slid. As I tried to climb back out the bank turned into a giant sized wave that kept getting larger and larger as I looked up (like the move A Perfect Storm) At the same time I was trying to avoid the sharks. Just as a huge one swam past me the humongous wave crashed down on me slamming me under the water and wave after wave was pushing me ever deeper and it was time for the giant shark to come back too.

Then I thought to myself. If this is a dream you CAN breathe underwater. I started to breathe much to my relief. I even managed to look around to enjoy the feeling of breathing underwater and enjoy the swirl of the water around me.

Then I went into a deeper sleep and I guess the dream was over.

Sounds like an interesting experience. Perfect example of dreams responding to our thougts. I bet the water and sharks were on your mind, and not in a good way. You were worrying about it, thinking about it, so your mind obliged and gave you exactly what you have been imagining. You were thinking about slipping into water, and slip you did.

If I may suggest, if you have a fear like that and you thinking about it, try to also think of an escape. Something, that will either prevent you from falling into water, or you saying "I love you" to the sharks which would then turn them into payfull dolphins, or just anything that would turn a scary situation into something to your advantage.

And breathing under water - that is so cool. I have done it on occasion in non-lucid, each time when being chased, I would hide in the deep end of the pool being able to breathe. Some of the best dreams, those.

So you had some logical thinking, realizing you can breathe, since it's a dream. Good job. Happy dreams
