This is one of my first lucid dreams which was long and had decent amounts of dream control. After trying different techniques to stabilize my lucid dreams i have found some great combinations.
1 when i realize I'm dreaming i tell myself stay calm and i think about what i want to so next for a few minutes to rule out any reckless impulse ideas that might make me wake up.
2 if the dream is in the second person view or if it feels blurry and unstable i look at my hands and rub them together and feel the touch and focus on the detail.( its important to repeat to yourself that you are dreaming because this action can feel o real you might forget you are dreaming. This happened to me a few times) I've also tried pinning and falling backwards with little success
3 once the dream is stable have fun and constantly remind yourself you are dreaming.
Here is my first good lucid dream! The story is a little choppy because i wrote it quickly before i forgot the details i will continue to edit it later. It was an insanely long dream. I saved a hey raccoon and a skunk that was apparently my pet. And i put them on a sled and brought them downhill to the destination that i knew we had to go to. The animals could talk they were friendly. As the sled gained speed down the hill i jumped on and said this is gonna be a fun ride. The skunk said we are not going as fast as last time when we crashed. I remembered and i slowed down and we lightly tapped the large stairs that led to the hotel thing then when we to there everyone said high and it was our school and we were on a field trip or some thing and we were leaving today so we had to find everyon a few stories below we see Abby in an elevator shaft she falls into fog and diesEveryone freaks out We all sit down Justin is there. They gave out soccer awardsI talked to someone about how Abby died and they said its not that bad cuz this is just a dreamJake was sitting next to meI said its really not as sad that Abby died because this is just a dream. He said oh shit u r right we should fly!!! We both tried to fly. I Started jumping it didn't work. I jumped flapped my arms. Started to workI was in a parking lot and i jumped off the edge into grass with a forest below. I flapped my arms and flew for a second then i glided. Down to the ground. I tried flying but i was in a very dense forest. It was morning and there was misty fog all around. The trees were so close together that i couldn't fly i kept hitting branches as i lifted off. It was a very cool and creepy forest that in itself was awesome. The weird Chinese areas and the bridges. I jumped from one bridge to another. Room with weird carvings and extreme detail Asian I jumped into a chinese paper house no walls just ceiling and ground it had objects in it. I jumped through the ceiling and climbed out to get a better viewI saw more houses n the forest and clearings. I turned to my right and flew over to the clearing and landed on a house. Then i looked over to the other side of the house and i saw a cliff with a large lazy river at the bottom. It had a muddy sandy dusty grassy shore. I jumped and flapped my arms. Now i was finally really flying. It was a great accomplishment. I looked down over the water and i thought about diving in when i got to the middle because i was so high up that it would be fun. But the water looked dirty and murky and shallow in some spots so i decided it would be better and less scary to continue flying. I saw a hippo in the water too. It was an African watering hole. Now it was bright and sunny i enjoyed looking down as i flew high above the water. I landed on a house by the shore in the other side i climbed up. It was a large house and it was brightly colored it looked like a tourist bed and breakfast. Sort of like a nature observer where they would sleep. As i climbed to the peak of the house and looked ove to the other side all i saw was white! I looked the other way and saw only white too the scenery was all gone!! It was vast whiteness as far as i could see. I decide to sculpt a scene to walk into. I imagined me building a city scape. It then drew before my eyes it was like a google sketch up drawing at first and the thing drew with dotted lines to smooth it out and lines connected and things filled in. Before i knew it i had a city to explore! I jumped down off the house Nd walked around. I thought about subway surfers and i thought it would be cool to do that in real life so i imagined a subway car their. There was one so i climbed up and stood on it. Then i imagined that cars would start coming towards me like in the game and their was a row of five tracks which was bigger than the game. As the cars approached i jumped on one and it was short so i quickly jumped to another and another it was like a maze. Then i went into a tunnel and i kept jumping from ne to the other but i was i less control like i was just watching instead of experiencing i was zoomed out of my body. Then it morphed so that i was on the couch playing subway surfer on my iPod and my parents came in and i realized. Was still lucid dreaming and i had to wake up so i wouldn't freak my parents out so i flailed my arms and nothing happened. My parents were concerned. My dad said is this how you spend your nights on the couch playing video with a tub of ice cream and there was one and it got on the sheets. Then i woke up again the first part was a false awakening haha.
