Thumbs up Had my first Lucid dream last night (DILD)

It was pretty insane. I was just sitting around in the regular dream with my girlfriend, and this guy was just steady talking crap to us. I saw something (for the life of me I cannot remember what it was) and promptly looked down at my hand. My pinky and pointer finger were extended way out while the rest of my fingers were shortened, and this is when I thought to myself, "Wow, I am dreaming!"

It was quite intense, immediately the dream went from extremely fuzzy and vague to very clear, with my senses possibly better than in real life. It was very short lived, but not because I woke up but because I just simply lost lucidity. The first thing I was going to do was punch the guy, but I held back mid way through as I thought, " Wait, that is like punching myself..." I tried to control the dream in simple ways (ie opening a door without physically doing it) but it seems I am not quite good enough to do that quite yet.

      Hoping to post more experiences,

Wooot congrats on your first lucid! That was not bad at all. Don't worry, dream control will come with practice and you'll surely get better everytime. Good luck! And I'm happy you now know how amazing it can be

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Congrats on the first lucid dream!
Dream control indeed will come with practice, but remember that expectation and confidence are keys to it, when doing control, not just think about it, but fully believe that you can do it and fully expect it to happen, there's a tutorial on dream control as well, check it out: Dream Control Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

Going to try and attain lucidity once again tonight, but I don't know that the chances are very high for that... Tried to take an afternoon nap ( heard that that is a good time for lucid dreams to occur) but my house is too damn loud right now.... Just hoping that Lucids become the norm, cause it was a hell of an experience.
