My lifelong Lucid Dream

I've had a reoccurring dream since I was in day care. When I was a small child, it was one of the most frightening nightmares I could have. But now when it starts, I know what's going to happen but can't do anything to stop it. It starts out in a plain white room with bare wooden floors. I'm on my bed (it used to be a crib, i remember that.) and looking at the far wall. The view zooms in rather cinematic-esque on a small end table pressed against that wall. A white feather gently, silently floats down.. As it falls, it seems like the world gets more and more silent.. The moment the feather touches the table, the wall gives way to the thing behind it. I say "The Thing" because I've never figured out what it is. Where the wall once was is a mas of metal pipes, churning, writhing and slithering over itself. Some of them have metallic legs, like centipedes. They grind and rumble the air around me. It feels like it should be the loudest thing ever, but I can't hear anything. Even when I was little and cried or shouted, I couldn't hear myself. No sound, no air, or anything. At that point, I'd wake up in a mild panic. Now when I have the dream, I've tried running to grab the feather and stop it, but the room stretches out, leaving me at the bed still. I've sat there and watched, knowing full well what's going to happen. And instead of screaming or crying, I wait. Wait to see what it DOES. It just sits there amongst itself doing nothing else. It's something I can't control in my dream, either. I've tried to make it part, or crawl away.. Or SOMETHING. But it remains, doing it's thing until I wake up. Also hello!

Have you been able to associate it with the fact that you're dreaming? If it's always recurring, you could end up using it as a way to get into a lucid dream, where you could stop that feather and do pretty much anything you wanted beside that.

Yo. When in that dream, were you aware that you were dreaming? Being lucid means being aware that you are dreaming, and if you were not aware, it was not lucid. But even then, you are really close to being lucid, then as Librarian says associate this scenario with the fact that you are dreaming, and you can get lucid when it happens again. But if you are already lucid and there's lack of control, firstly, do not ever think that you don't have control, expectations play great role in dream control and if you expect it to not be successful you will only make it harder.
