Scared to sleep, need advice on how to extend control beyond myself

Ok so i signed up to this site after just waking up from this dream which messed me with significantly :/,

I can effectively split it into 2 parts but for some reason they're completely unrelated and the first part i dont remember much of and i dont remember being lucid so i'll only describe the second.

Ok so in many lucid dreams i have, i can force myself to fly (admittely i cant go that fast there just seems to be a block, also the higher i get the more difficult it becomes, with a few times i've gone too high and fallen.....any advice here?), i was in practically the middle of knowhere, there was a road leading up a hill going round and round higher and higher, it took some effort but i flew to the top. at this point i realised i've had this (2 part anyway) EXACT dream before(location and thing wise which i'll get to) but it must have been like at least a year ago now.... I look around at the top and spot someone in a crow's nest thing hanging off the top of the highest tower, remembering last time i dreamt of this place i was in that crow's nest when thing's started, instead i ended up looking around and after a bit i come to this person/thing the best way to describe him is simply he looked like "chef" from southpark in his body and shape just not a cartoon.

I ended up saying i knew someone he recognised and he kicks me in the face immeaditely leaving me to hang off the edge of tower by a hand, at this point i focus and sent him flying off the hill crashing to his death(i think) (if i concerntrate and focus heavily i can also do this but this and flying is all i can do). I feel quite pleased and for some reason start to fly and end up in this cave with a few other people. At which point i become surounded by mishapen demon raven headed things and a voice which booms out "thy did not write thy name on thy document so thy shall be reborn".

I immeaditely escape as far as i can and start to fly as fast as i can and realise i am being chased by the thing i thought i had killed earlier, he almost catches upto me but stops and becomes a giant, i stay ahead and fly between two large hills where for some reason there are friendly giants but when then that thing comes he tears them apart with ease. I'm not sure what exactly happens next but i find myself hiding in a random straw attic thing (i think it was just a random floating attic now i think about it) along with a few others who are normal size. It unfortunately gets very fuzzy here but my dream ended with me after being pummelled and feeling everything using my power i sent him flying miles away and at this point i woke up :/

I seem to have this kind of dream often....and i cant find anyway to stop them with the only two proper things i can do is fly and move things. How can i gain control of my enviroment and change it etc? is this even possible? How can i force myself to wake up when i wish? Any advice would be helpful...thanks

(as a note i seem to feel EVERYTHING in my dreams as if it were real for instance if i were stabbed it would be one painful dream)

(i have posted this twice, sorry but i am unsure which bit it relates too)

I've heard that you can wake up by closing your eyes in the dream, or by shouting out loud, "I will wake up!" If I'm having a nightmare I'll usually turn around and give whatever person/creature that is scaring me a hug, and ask them what I can do to help them. That usually turns them into something helpless, instead of scary.
It's important to remember that it's just a dream, that you aren't going to be hurt in real life. Tell yourself that being stabbed won't hurt, it's just a dream.

Sounds like you might have a confidence problem, maybe in real life, but in your dream you do. I found the only way to stop this is to turn and face the bad things in the dreams and make them sease to exist, like with blowing them up or creating another dreamscape. I personally think if you face these negative dream characters and succeed it might give you the confidence to face the stuff you may or may not be running from in waking life
