Have any of you ever done this?

Well my friend got these things called "Red Devils" they are a pill the actual name of the pill is Coriciden Cough and Cold. Now for the interesting part after having taken 8 of them you have to wait for a hour to an hour and a half. Now once they kick in your get a buzz sort of feels like you have had 5-10 beers in other words you feel really wasted. Now i realized when i was at school i set my head down on my desk. This is where it got really cool. You know when you see full images in your head but they fade away? When I had my head on my desk I could keep the images in my head. I could even manipulate them and make them do things. For instance I played a few levels of Super Mario Bros. In my head it was crazy. I got home and went to bed still feeling the full effects of these pills. My dreams were amazing. They were so vivid and so real I could of swore I was awake better yet I had full control over everthing in the dream the people the surroundings myself it was amazing. Anyways just wondering if anyone else has tried these pills before?

Yes, I have used something similar, dextromethorphan (DXM for slang), which is the active ingredient in Coricidin. I *strongly* recommend not taking Coricidin for a high, though. Coricidin contains other active ingredients, which when taken in high doses like that can cause serious liver damage and in some cases, death (someone in my town actually, for example). There are much much safer forms of DXM, which I can elaborate on more in a Private Message, but is probably not appropriate to expound on in the forum.

But yes, I have taken DXM many times and I understand what you are talking about. The hallucinations that you see in closed eyes, almost like a tv in your eyes, can be very real and sometimes manipulated by the person. Often these visuals are things from daily life, something that was done earlier in the day, or watched on TV. I have replayed a football game from earlier in the day one time with my eyes closed.. although not the entire game, but a good portion. These can strongly resemble a lucid dream, except for the fact there is no dream body involved, and so it is all visual.

The dreams that occur the night after DXM (or if you have taken it in the daytime instead of at night, then it would be the night of the same day you took it) are indeed extremely vivid. I have had some of my most incredible, realistic dreams occur the night after taking DXM. Usually a lot of lucid dreams as well. That was actually one of my favorite perks to taking it, the dreams that happen later on.

So yeah, Brandon Heat, I'll PM you a little more info in a little while.

Also, I officially do not condone taking DXM and especially caution people NOT to use Coricidin above the recommended dosage.

Man, you need to be careful taking ANYTHING at a dosage of 4-8x over recommended. You might not show any synptoms for years, but stuff like that can really wreck your liver.

Yeah it is very possible to damage your liver permanently if you take DXM on a regular basis, which is why it is good to either use it in strict moderation or, better yet, not at all. I still do use it occasionally but I also take supplements for my liver and ginko biloba to counteract the temporary memory impairment. Even though it can boost lucid dreams I still believe it's best to not get into it. For some people it can be habit-forming and not everyone acts responsibly, so it's best not to take any risks. As lucid dreamers we should be able to rely on our own abilities to achieve lucid dreaming and not a chemical.

      OH CHRIST NO

      NO NO NO NO

I know a few of you have already said this, but I have to reiterate:

If you want to trip on DXM, use a cough syrup or something with ONLY dextromethorphan in it.

Coricidins have another ingredient, CPM, and that shit is FUCKING DEADLY.

Seriously, even if you don't die after tripping, you will be doing terrible organ damage. Also, some people trip regularly on CCC's using the same dose every time, and all of a sudden their regular dose sends them to the hospital.

By the way, dextromethorphan is an addictive dissociative, just like PCP or Ketamine. It IS possible to get hooked on it.

If you want a dex trip, abuse a DXM-ONLY medicine. DXM isn't that great compared to other trips anyway, in my opinion. I don't like the robo-itch.

      Jesus, no. No CCC's.

I've gotten myself ill and the doctor has given me 3 mixtures.. for like cough, phlegm and whatnot... so i take 10ml of each... along with some decongestant... next thing i know im groggy... yet can't sleep... so i start getting hypnagogic images (is that what it is?)... and my body starts vibrating! hehe its fun... though i don't really need cough syrups n stuff for things to happen.. its just that it's been pretty interesting coz i havn't been sick in a while!

u generally have to drink a whole bottle or so of robitussen maximum strength cough syrup to feel any significant effects, alot of cough syrups have other crap in them that when taken in large doses will kill you, search for dxm on the web if you are interested, robo walk is because of some weird effect dxm has, makes it hard to move your arms and legs, almsot stiff so you appear like a robot, also search on google for this, why dont people ever use google geeze lol

"Robo-walk" is the characteristic walk on DXM where you sort of walk stiff-legged and unbalanced, a little robot-like. "Robo-itch" is the itch that occurs in some people after ingesting large amounts of DXM. It is a histimine response that causes itching, but not too many people get it, maybe 25 percent. The "Robo" part of the name is actually more in reference to the slang for Robitussin, Robo.

Also, qu1xs1lv3r, I don't believe you would have had that response from only 10ml, which is probably only 15-25mg. Most people take 200+ mg.

Another thing, since this isn't a forum on drugs it is probably a good idea to refrain from giving any ideas or suggestions on what or how to take it. If you want to learn more about it yourself, go to Erowid.org and search for DXM. But this probably isn't the place to be discussing it unless it is relevant to dreaming.

It is true DXM can be psychologically addictive for some people, similar to weed in that aspect, but it is not physically addictive like alcohol or cocaine. If you are particularly susceptible to addictions it would be wise not to experiment with it.

If you want more information on DXM, PM me, but I don't think any further explanations or information should be given on the forum, although that's up to Seeker.
