Angry My 1st Lucid Dream? LAME

Last night was my first lucid dream (Whoo! )

But, it was super lame. I couldn't leave the dream world, I couldn't manipulate the world, and I didn't feel "exhilarated". No sense of freedom either. Also, no pop of clarity.

I mean, I guess I should be happy, seeing as my first lucid dream happened on the fifth day of me starting, and that I reach lucid layer 3 minor on the first LD, but COME ON!!! I felt no "happiness" whatsoever. If I had any emotion during that lucid dream, it was disappointment.

      Poop.

Any thoughts as to why I was so emotionless during that dream...?

Hopefully I'll have more LD's soon. Maybe I just need more practice.

      LOL. I can totally relate.
My first lucid dream I entered in directly through WILD, got up and everything was black and white and splotchy. My hands were transparent. I looked at them and said "clear" and nothing happened. I tried to change stuff and nothing happened at all. Then I woke up.

I've had two since and each became more vivid and controllable. Except this last one I couldn't get through the ceiling lol (because I read some stories about people not being able to. Now I'm stuck a bit).

Yes..just keep going. We are beings of adaptation. It was a new conscious experience and will take awhile to adapt to, in my opinion. Just a theory though.

As for the emotionless thing...what has your attitude been in trying for a Lucid Dream? Is it real analytical? that was my attitude until after my first one.

I really don't know though. I know nothing of science in terms of dreams and emotions and how all that works.

      First of all Congrats

Sometimes it's better, that the feeling in your LD isn't that vivid or intense lol ; from my point of view. For my self, I really got excited on my first lucid dream and this so bad, that I could only remain like for 2 seconds.

To the question why you felt emotionless... I'm not the fucking end master in lucid dreams. From my experience I think that the "dream-environment" may not been that amazing (for what I understood), so that you couldn't feel that amazed or happy. Or your expectation were to high.

But after all, you can now be happy for what you already achieved A first step is always to walk through the dream world to get used to it. and maybe you see some recuring places, faces, etc. which could help you getting lucid.

After thinking about it for a bit, I'm realizing that I'm just plain happy that my first LD happened! Whoo! As a side note, how long was it between your first and second lucid dream? What were the differences? I've been so focused on just taking that first step that now I'm just like, "um... what next?"

      Thanks a ton!

I'm glad you realize that you took a giant step it was about 4-5 days between my first and second. The second one was much more vivid..what's interesting Is I actually couldn't fly through the ceiling like int he first one. I think it's because certain things have to be consciously worked out as you become more aware in lucid dreams, and begin to slow down (which is when doubt can work its way in)...mere speculation.I remember...I had read stories of people not being able to fly or get through walls/ceilings before my second dream. So now I'm in a place where I have to take more control of the nature through autosuggestion and stuff. It's a learning process.

another difference was that entering into the dream was much more subconscious and I felt much calmer. I entered in through DEILD (a dream had ended and I become aware int the "paralyzed" sensation state).

I like the idea of solidifying what hasn't been solidified yet...and I'm personally working in very incremental steps...so this last dream, I couldn't get through the ceiling. Now I'm spending time imagining "shape shifting" the material of the ceiling so I can get through it.

I think it's important to take a lot of time enjoying what you've already done and settle into it for awhile. Really helps you stay encouraged.

You shouldn't be disappointed. My very first lucid dream scared the crap out of me.

Not every lucid dream is the same. Lucid dreams can be extremely vivid, extremely fuzzy, completely stupid, very exciting, boring, intense, fantastic, terrible, etc.

Keep working at it. Write them down. Do intense reality checks, as much as you can. Read your past dream-journal entries. Review your dreamsigns, think about LDs during the day, etc.

      And get lots of sleep.

Of Course you need practice!!!! It took stephen laberge 2 years to get to the highest level (4 or 5 i can't remember) of lucidity... So getting it on the first night is pretty lucky, but don't think you know all of it yet buddy

P.S - I dont know all of it either
