Finally had a worthy lucid dream!

Hey, I have been interested in Lucid Dreaming for a few months after someone brought it up in conversation. Previously to this I had no knowledge of being able to control a dream, and probably wouldn't have thought it possible. I did some research and decided that I wanted to try it for my self.

I started keeping a dream journal and doing reality checks. I did this for quite a while with little success and kind of became disinterested. I had a break for a few weeks and recently started again. Last night I finally had a Lucid Dream without waking up through excitement!

I awoke naturally at 4:30 in the morning, and went downstairs to get a drink. I went straight back to bed and fell asleep, (kind of with the view to go lucid but didn't enter directly from waking state so was DILD rather than a WBTB). I had a few wierd dreams where perhaps I should have became lucid through out the night.. then suddenly I was placed in a dream and was instantly aware I was lucid! I'm not sure why, because there didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary..

To cut a fairly long story short, the first thing I did (most people probably do) was try to fly! I knew It was a dream so just went for it! And it worked!, although as I discovered throughout the course of the dream, I couldn't fly very high and had to change to flapping my arms at one point to gain some hight... this was because a random mob of about 100 people where walking towards me.. :S I noticed someone I knew in the crowd as I flew over..

I also teleported! but I could only teleport between short distances that were in sight, I covered both my eyes with my hands while visualising the spot I wanted to travel to, took my hands away and I was there! I confused my friend alot with this, and in the end teleported him to! (he held on to my shoulder). I also had a 'force' like ability raising my hand causing someone I don't like to fly backwards through a crowd of people..

Finally, I went into the drivers seat of a bus, and noticed a radio.. I read on some forums that electronics do not work in dreams and turned the radio on and all I heard was static.. I used the dial to change between channels and still heard the same.. then I visualised a song I new very well and it started playing on the radio! It sounded so realistic?! shortly after this I woke up.. (during the course of the dream I kept reminding my self i was dreaming but kind of got to engrossed in the dream by the end).. sorry for the essay haha was so excited...

Next time I have a Lucid, (could be a long time) I want to talk to Dream Characters and see what they have to say.. finally does anyone have any tips for flying, and teleporting to places out of the line of sight? Thanks

First of, Congratulations on a LD!!! Im proud of you! But never say that the next time you will have a lucid dream will be in a long time! Heck, it will probably be tonight! Especially if you think so! You might of been lacking flight because you were either: doubting that you would never be able to fly in a dream or that you were just thinking to hard.

And always remember, ANYTHING can happen in a dream! Even pain and electronics. You just have to believe that it can happen and it will. Most people have trouble with those things especially trying to read text. Now I only had 1 Lucid Dream myself, but in my Lucid Dream, I had a fight with some super annoying old fart who lives next to me. I remember he punched me and I felt the pain. It didn't hurt as bad as it would in real life, but it still hurt! my mouth was bleeding and I can feel my lip get numb. Don't worry though, I gave him a lesson .

Haha good on you! in my only other lucid dream, (months ago) I told a DC I was dreaming and he proceeded to beat me up.. I haven't had a chance to read text yet, something I hope will come with more lucid dreams! I will try what you said next time you I have a lucid and I think your right, if I believe I can do it I will I'm surprised at how long the dream lasted!

Congratulations! And I find that having one lucid dream makes another more likely, so the chances of having a lucid dream soon have just substantially increased for you. Also once you have a worthwhile LD, odds are much better that your next one will be equally worthwhile or better.

Haha yeah i guess so! And it felt really realistic, (not that I have ever teleported or flown before) some people report that there lucids were so realistic that it was more than real life, but I think mine was about the same as real life! All the people who i recognised were exactly as they were in real life.. I freaked my self out a bit earlier as I randomly saw a person who was in my dream, who I haven't seen in a while when I was out shopping, (she was in the crowd of people when I flew over them..

More than real life? I wish I had those dreams... When I become lucid tonight (Thinking ahead ) I am gonna do things like rub my hands together and touch my surroundings to make the dreams more vivid.. I also heard talking to DC's make the dream more vivid. What I don't want to do again is find myself dreaming in a very low-quality and cloudy dream. One time I had a dream where I found myself dreaming, except I was trapped, in a bed room (With 2 dumb Dream characters) and no matter what I did, the room would not interact with me. I would try to move the bed sheets and they would not move. I would even try unplugging the clock (And the clock stayed on) and throwing the pillows off the bed, but no matter what I did, nothing would move or react to what I am doing. I could not do anything. Eventually, the dream went back to a non-lucid dream and when I woke up, I was so mad! That dream could of been awesome, but I was restricted. From Everything.

I think today is my lucky day as I just got offered a part time job! haha and yeah, I don't really understand either! I used the rubbing hands technique last night and just made sure to keep reminding my self every now and again that I was lucid.. think I was quite lucky to have my dream really clear/with so much control over it.. I see what you did there! haha forward thinking talking to DC's is something I definitely want to do the next time i become lucid, (*cough* tonight *cough*... i'l try.. ) I've heard that can be quite weird/funny? I've had quite a few instances recently were I have woken up annoyed because I no I should have became lucid! considering this is only my second, (first one wasn't much to get excited about and happened months ago) lucid, don't feel like I can offer any advice really.. try walk/punch through the wall? or just reassure your self that you can do what you want because it is your dream?
