      Sufficating LD

*the last paragraph has the most important info, so you can just read that if you wish. sorry this is long.

this is my first post on this site. i have had sometimes frequent lucid dreams, though i didn't know they had a name until i found this site. the first lucid dream i can remember was in 4th grade. i was in school and i told everyone they didn't have to listen to the teachers because they were in a dream. it was a fun time, but i have a question about my second most recent lucid dream:

i was taking a nap between classes and having a dream about this little african-american girl in a brilliant green dress with a white trim who was tap dancing. it must have been a type of talent show, because there was an audience. however, the stage she was tap dancing on was blocked from the view of most people for some reason. i felt bad that everyone could not see her. i was standing right by the stage (actually a little platform) and was applauding her spectacular act. i looked away from the stage and saw the girl's mother smiling and waving at her little girl from a seat that was back further from the rest of the crowd. i said to the little girl, "there's your mom. she's waving at you!" after the little girls act was over i applauded more, and she leapt down from the platform and walked away with her mother. and she was waling away i said goodbye and she turned back and said while waving, "see ya later." but she was not a little girl anymore. she was in fact a few years older now. i was shocked at first, but then realized i was dreaming and attained lucidity.

i was attempting to call up a girl to have sex with (i hadn't had an ld in a while, so i got a little too excited), but i suddenly got the feeling of becoming aware of my body outside of my dream. i couldn't remember feeling that in that way before. i gained control of my actual fingers and feet. (not %!00 sure i was really doing this). then i got the idea of telling my roommate who was across the room from me (in real life, not in my dream) that i was dreaming and thought it was such a cool idea to talk to him in the real world while i was lucid. so i tried this. i did not feel exactly the same as when i moved my fingers and feet. when i spoke, it came out as very raspy. i said "jordan, i'm dreaming." but i struggled on every word and felt like i was becoming depleted of oxygen. i also felt like i hadn't really said anything in the real world at all. but i was still gasping for air. i was scared i had attempted something i shouldn't have. i knew i had to wake up and was shaking myself and doing whatever i could to get back into the real world. i was sincerely panicked. i was scared at one time of being stuck in my dream, but then i suddenly woke up with a start. i was panting and looked over at my roommate who was looking back at me. i asked him if i had said anything in my sleep, and just as i had suspected, he said no. but i do still think i was able to move my fingers and feet. but now i am scared to try the feat of talking in my sleep when i am lucid again because of what happened. i really didn't like what i was feeling in my dream and for once feared real world pain while i was lucid. does anybody have an explanation for what happened, or had a similar experience?

      It was Sleep Paralysis

Next time, if that happens, attempt to do a WILD,

hmm...i have done something similar to a WILD before, but i didn't do any prep sleep or anything of that nature. i know how when you are drifting into sleep you sometimes have mild hallucinations. such as, you hear something that startles you, but it didn't really happen. or you think you hear someone speak. well i wanted to prolong this sensation, so as i was going to sleep, instead of closing my eyes, i just kept them open. i had read something about WILDs before, but thought i could have similar results without doing the whole sleep for a few hours before deal. so i am lying there and i can sense my body starting to drift off into a subconcious state. my eyes remain open and i start seeing some things in the room moving, flying around and such. then suddenly, a woman's face appears before my eyes. i actually had seen this woman before in a nightmare i had about a year before. she was a vampire in that dream, but in this vivid hallucination, she was not a vampire, though her eyes were equally frightening. the hallucination started with her head turned away from me, then she quickly spun her head around and i saw her evil looking face. she looked to be in her mid 30's and is a brunette. i've never seen her in real life, but she was certainly the same woman from that nightmare i had before. so after that i was freaked out and haven't tried anything like that since.

I've also tried to say something in real life to my roomate. Hahaha. I was trying to shout... "Hey tom... check this out... i'm lucid." The problem was, he was in his room also taking a nap so there was no way to know if he could have heard me or not.

That kind of stuff freaks me out. I'm always so worried about my actual body. It seems as if I open my eyes in the LD that i'm really doing in in real life. Also, if you're engaing in some nice sexual act with a DC, who's to say you're not grinding up with your body pillow or taking the sheets to town Hehe... it would be pretty embarassing to have someone walk in and see a pillow getting taken for a ride. Thank the lord there is sleep paralysis and prevents that. I think I'm going to tape myself while I sleep. I think it would be interesting to see what the hell is going on!
